About the job
Do you want to lead a nursing home with high professionalism and a strong sense of community – and make a difference in everyday life for the residents?
Helsingør Municipality is seeking a nursing home manager for Strandhøj Nursing Home – a well-functioning home with engaged staff and a focus on quality of life, dignity and presence.
As nursing home manager you will have overall responsibility for operations and development and a central role in ensuring high quality care close to residents' everyday life.
You will be part of the Center for Health and Care and join the center's management team. About Strandhøj Nursing Home
Strandhøj Nursing Home is located in Espergård overlooking Øresund and comprises 50 residences distributed over two houses, of which 12 are in a protected unit for residents with dementia.
Strandhøj is a nursing home with a clear focus on creating a dignified and meaningful everyday life for each resident in an atmosphere characterized by communities, cosiness and presence. It requires a high professional standard, strong cross-disciplinary collaboration and a practice where residents' needs and wishes guide the work – and where there is an approachable and respectful culture in daily life.
You will lead about 70 staff and have – together with two ward managers – responsibility for setting direction, creating coherence and ensuring quality in care. The management role is close to daily practice and requires clear prioritization and direction as well as the ability to create followership in the organization.
You also have responsibility for close and trusting cooperation with relatives, who play an active role in daily life around the residents. The nursing home also houses a day centre and shared facilities that support activities, training and community. About the position
As nursing home manager you have the overall responsibility to ensure well-functioning operations, high professional quality and the continued development of Strandhøj. You have an important role in translating central reforms and strategic initiatives into concrete solutions that create value for residents, relatives and staff.
You must be able to balance stable operations with development and set a clear direction for quality in the residents' daily lives – with a focus on quality of life, dignity and self-determination.
You lead through two ward managers and are leader for key personnel in the organization. You have a central task in developing a well-functioning leadership team with clear roles, common direction and ongoing follow-up. You set a clear direction for the key personnel's efforts and ensure that their functions support quality in performing tasks, and that decisions are translated into practice in daily life.
You have overall responsibility for Strandhøj Nursing Home, including the day centre, and you are part of a larger community in the Center for Health and Care, where you contribute to a common direction, priorities and cross-organizational solutions.
You will have line management responsibility for a full-time supervisor in a newly established cross-sector collaboration with home care, where you help set the direction from the start.
You have an important role in strengthening collaboration with relatives, volunteers and the local community, so that communities are created and an active everyday life for the residents.
At the same time you will become part of the large leadership community in the Center for Health and Care, where you as a leader participate in ongoing development work across the center and Helsingør Municipality. We are seeking a nursing home manager who:
- Can lead a well-functioning nursing home and further develop it
- Has a health professional bachelor's degree – preferably as a nurse – and experience from the elderly care sector in a municipal setting
- Has leadership training and experience in leading leaders and preferably also key personnel
- Can set direction and translate it into practice in a politically governed organization
- Has an eye for the link between professional quality, well-being and operations
- Can develop a strong leadership community with a common direction and clear follow-up
- Prioritizes collaboration and can build trust in relationships – both internally and externally
- Can develop cooperation with volunteers and the local community to create communities and an active everyday life for residents
We offer
- The opportunity to lead a well-run nursing home with engaged staff and capable team leaders
- A central leadership role with influence on the development of future elderly care
- A strong leadership community with a high degree of sparring and collaboration
- Good opportunities for professional and managerial development
- An employer that focuses on dignity, quality of life and strong communities
