At Klarahus Nursing Home in the Old Town on Nørrebro we are looking for a nutrition assistant or a cook who wants to combine good culinary craftsmanship with coordination and planning of the kitchen's daily work.

About the job

Klarahus is a nursing home with 115 residents distributed across three departments. The kitchen plays an important role in the residents' daily life, and we work every day to create meals that taste good, smell appealing, and contribute to the residents' health, well-being and quality of life.

The City of Copenhagen has an ambitious food and meal strategy focusing on nutrition, ecology and sustainable meals that appeal to the senses. As a kitchen coordinator you will have a central role in translating these ambitions into practice.

You will become a close partner to the kitchen manager and have an important function in the daily coordination of the kitchen's tasks. You must both have your hands in production and be able to keep an overview, prioritize and allocate tasks.

Your tasks will include, among other things

• participate in the production of the day's meals
• support the daily planning and coordination of the kitchen's production
• take care of purchasing and ensure an overview of the kitchen's raw materials
• prioritize and delegate tasks in collaboration with the kitchen manager
• be a role model and contribute to a good working community in the kitchen
• act as a link between the kitchen, the departments and the care staff
• contribute to the development of meals, sustainability and quality in the kitchen's work

Who are we looking for?

We imagine that you

• are educated as a nutrition assistant, cook or professional bachelor in nutrition and health
• have experience from the elderly care sector
• want to combine food production with coordination and planning
• work in a structured and quality-conscious manner and can maintain an overview in a busy daily life
• have a focus on hygiene, food safety and sustainability
• are proactive and can prioritize and delegate tasks in a constructive way
• thrive in a cross-disciplinary environment and want close contact with both residents and care staff

We also place importance on you contributing positively to the work community. With us there should be room for professional sparring, an honest and friendly tone and a good laugh during the workday.

What can you expect from us?

You will become part of a dynamic and professionally strong kitchen team where collaboration and quality are important points of focus.

You will have a central role in daily operations and the opportunity to make your mark on both production, collaboration and the development of meals at Klarahus.

Employment terms

Salary and terms follow the applicable collective agreement. The position is 37 hours per week with day shifts Monday to Friday between 06:30 and 14:00. There may be occasional evening shifts on holidays and for special events, where flexibility and commitment are important for the kitchen team.
