About the job

As an occupational therapist at Jacobshøj you will have a diverse role, where your tasks range from health care to pedagogical interventions. You will become part of a dedicated team that works holistically with citizens' well-being, development and quality of life.

At Jacobshøj live 20 adult residents, and in addition we offer 10 respite places and a day service for citizens with developmental disabilities and other functional impairments who need full support in daily life.

You will have engaged colleagues with different professional backgrounds who work across disciplines. We have access to a general practitioner and a nurse who continuously can support us in handling health care challenges.

Jacobshøj is part of Center for Længerevarende Boformer – area Multiple. The area is targeted at citizens with developmental disabilities with physical mobility impairments and in some cases psychiatric diagnoses.

As an occupational therapist you will, among other things, have the opportunity to work with

  • sensorimotor training and rehabilitation
  • assistive devices mediation and adaptation
  • activity analysis, adaptation and prevention
  • interdisciplinary collaboration around citizens' development

Our pedagogical approach

On the pedagogical level we work from a neuro-pedagogical approach – focusing on the whole person. We emphasize supporting the citizen's self- and co-determination, so the individual feels in control of their life.

Well-being we see from a citizen perspective, where the close relationship is the cornerstone of the work. We enter the citizen's home, and we are therefore always conscious of the respect and the presence this requires.

We are looking for you, who

  • also is ready to become part of the citizen's daily life and take part in both the pedagogical and care tasks (yes, we have the latest welfare technology)
  • contributes with professional sparring to your colleagues with other professional backgrounds
  • perhaps knows the work on the day shift area, and otherwise we will prepare you for the tasks
  • helps create well-being in the workplace, and sees it as a shared responsibility
  • is not afraid to document, and if you are not skilled at Domus, we can teach you
  • can keep a cool head when plans change in a split second (we of course always have coffee to help with the overview)
  • is patient and empathetic, we know you can see the citizen's needs (and maybe also catch a few funny moments along the way)

Everyday life at Jacobshøj

Here there is space, light and air – and of course the necessary aids such as ceiling hoists, wide door openings and electronic solutions that make everyday life a little easier.

We are not just a place to live, we are a place to develop. Not only human and pedagogical, but also technological. We love new ideas, especially if they can make everyday life easier, more fun or more sensory for the citizens. Welfare technology is not just something we use. It is something we explore, test and get better at.

Start-up and everyday life – this is how you start with us

When you start, you will have a 14-day introduction program, so you feel at home before you become part of the work schedule. We have an orientation folder ready for you, (it's actually quite exciting), and you will have a shared introductory day together with new colleagues from other care homes. We make sure that you feel comfortable from day one.

Employment terms

Employment is according to the collective agreement applicable for occupational therapists and physiotherapists.

We offer a permanent full-time position starting 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible. We are a flexible workplace with an ambition to create an attractive working life for you.

As we are a 24-hour service, you should expect rotating shifts and work every other weekend. A day shift typically starts at 6:30, an evening shift typically starts at 14:00.

We request criminal records and references as part of the recruitment process.
