About the job

Do you want to help strengthen opportunities for children and young people to participate in meaningful activities and master daily life challenges? And would you like to become part of a strong professional community with good opportunities for sparring, development and specialisation? Then it might be you we are looking for.

We are looking for an occupational therapist for a permanent position of 35-37 hours per week in The Outpatient Pediatric Therapy (DAB) at the Children’s Center Copenhagen.

About the job

At The Outpatient Pediatric Therapy we work with assessment, guidance, counselling and targeted training programs for children and young people aged 0-18 years with various functional challenges.

Our interventions are generally time-limited and draw on activities that are meaningful for the child and family in everyday life. We work to support the child’s development, independence and participation in meaningful activities.

As an occupational therapist you can, among other things, work with children who have challenges with

  • daily activities such as dressing, eating and personal independence
  • fine motor skills and hand function, e.g. in connection with drawing, writing and use of tools
  • oromotor functions and skills in relation to eating and drinking
  • sensation processing and regulation, which can affect the child’s participation in everyday life
  • play, activity and participation in social communities

We base our work on the child’s and family’s goals and use play and meaningful everyday activities as central tools in the occupational therapy intervention.

An important part of the work is to involve and guide the parents so that the strategies and activities we work with can be transferred to the child’s everyday life. We also collaborate with educators, teachers and other professionals around the child when relevant.

You will have the opportunity to independently plan, implement and evaluate your programs, while having close access to professional sparring with your colleagues.

A strong professional community

As an occupational therapist in The Outpatient Pediatric Therapy you will become part of a professional environment with both occupational therapists and physical therapists. At the same time you join the Children’s Center Copenhagen’s overall therapy group of about 55 therapists.

We place a high priority on professional sparring, knowledge sharing and development and meet regularly across our different areas of work.

We are actively working to develop the quality of our therapeutic interventions. Among other things, we have developed our own flowchart for goal setting, where the child’s perspective, meaningful goals and systematic evaluation are central elements. We also continuously strengthen evidence-based practice.

With us you have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in pediatric occupational therapy, develop your competencies and contribute to the shared professional development.

We are looking for someone who

  • is a licensed occupational therapist and has a strong interest in working with children and young people with special needs
  • has experience with the pediatric field or wants to develop your competencies within pediatric occupational therapy
  • has knowledge of or interest in relevant occupational therapy assessment and evaluation tools
  • can work independently and structure, plan and evaluate your own programs
  • wants to work closely with children and families and can translate your professional knowledge into concrete and applicable guidance
  • thrives on professional sparring and multidisciplinary collaboration
  • is curious, flexible and keen to share knowledge and develop your professional skills together with colleagues

You do not need to have experience with all target groups or areas of intervention. The most important is that you want to work with children and families and bring your occupational therapy expertise into play.

We offer

  • a strong and engaged work community with skilled occupational and physiotherapy colleagues
  • a professional environment with opportunities for sparring, specialization and competence development
  • a trust-based workplace with great influence, involvement and shared responsibility
  • a varied workday with independent programs and close collaboration with children, families and professionals
  • focus on professional development, knowledge sharing and ongoing reflection on our practice
  • an introduction program during the first 14 days, where you visit other workplaces and follow experienced colleagues
  • a mentoring scheme where you are paired with an occupational therapy colleague who helps you get started

Employment terms

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement. The position is permanent with a weekly working time of 35-37 hours. Start date by agreement.

We work with zero-time (nultid), which means that for example with a 37-hour contract you work 39.5 hours per week and in return earn additional days off.

In connection with the appointment we will obtain a child and criminal record check as well as references.

We look forward to reading your application.
