About the job

Do you have a strong understanding of financial management and can you connect finance and professional expertise? Then you may be exactly the financial partner we are looking for.

As a financial partner, you are the link between the finance centre and the Center for Children, School and Family. The position is therefore centrally located in the Town Hall with physical presence in both finance and the professional centre.

You will report to the head of finance and be part of a team of financial partners, where there is a strong financial professional environment with opportunities for cross-disciplinary sparring, exchange of experience and personal development.

At the same time, your concrete tasks involve supporting the centre head for Children, School and Family in the management of the area’s finances. This takes place in close collaboration with the budget-responsible leaders, who can use you as a sparring partner on financial matters. You will therefore be in ongoing close dialogue with school leaders, day care leaders and the leaders of the specialized children’s area and PPR about budgets and financial management.

You will also contribute to supporting the political process in the subject committees, the finance committee and the municipal council. In addition to being able to connect finance and professionalism, you should therefore also have a sharp pen, so you can prepare cases and notes that can be used at a political level – e.g. in connection with budget negotiations.

Finally, the position involves a good deal of coordination and process management, so it is advantageous that you generally have a good overview and can work in a structured way to meet deadlines.

Your tasks

Specifically, you will for example

  • provide the centre head with strong professional support and sparring in financial questions
  • support the financial management of schools, institutions and other areas in close collaboration with the budget-responsible leaders
  • prepare analyses and management information for managers, the executive and at the political level, which often entails a link between finance and professionalism
  • prepare political cases concerning financial topics in the centre’s area

Competencies

The ideal candidate may have several different educational backgrounds and experiences. The most important is that the candidate has several of the following competencies

  • Has knowledge of or experience with working with finance and governance (preferably in a municipal context). It is an advantage, but not a requirement, to have worked with municipal allocation models and systems, e.g. OPUS
  • Can engage in dialogue with the budget-responsible leaders and support them in their budget and financial management task.
  • Can produce sharp and holistic analyses and management information aimed at the centre head, the executive board and the political level
  • Has experience with the children, school, and family area
  • Can work independently with complex tasks where finance and professionalism must come together
  • Can operate widely within the organisation and has an approachable and cooperative approach to solving tasks
  • Works persistently and in a structured way with a good overview
  • Thrives with a broad task portfolio, where there are sometimes short deadlines
