Moment Professionals is seeking on behalf of an experience company in Copenhagen an operations manager who can take responsibility for daily floor operations and the quality of the guest experience. The role suits you if you want to be close to operations and the staff, and you gain energy from high service and fast pace when guests stream in.

Your day-to-day at the company

You will be the internal focal point and work closely with the CEO every day. You lead a young team of around 30 employees, and your task is to get them to work together in daily life, both the new and the experienced. When many guests arrive at the same time, sales and service must still hit on the minute. Other parts of the day you will spend on purchasing, stock, rosters and handling the practicalities when something goes wrong.

Part of the work is about being present and attentive when the guests are there. They are especially in the evenings and on weekends, conversely there is the possibility to take time off at other times.

The culture is informal and everyone agrees that you should have fun when at work – you should foster and carry forward that culture. The camaraderie is strong, and everyone is prepared to help each other – also when it gets busy.

To succeed in the role…

…you don’t need to come from the experience or entertainment industry. The most important thing is that you know life on a busy service or restaurant floor, and that you can get a young team to collaborate under pressure. In addition you take pride in:

• Get new employees quickly into the culture and get them trained and help the experienced take on more responsibility.
• Maintain an overview of purchasing and stock, so items are in place before they run out.
• Set the direction and keep the mood up when things get tight.
• Grasp the practicalities immediately, from a malfunctioning coffee machine to a duty roster that must add up.
• Build the right team, both when hiring new people and when someone progresses.

The foundation

• You have experience from a busy service-, restaurant- or retail environment, either as a leader or as a profile ready to take the step, and you can lead through others.
• You keep calm and maintain a high spirit when tempo is high.
• You have a handle on the practicals: planning, purchasing, stock and daily operations.
• You are willing to work evenings and weekends and to be present when it counts.
