Organ consultant wanted - West

The position as organ consultant in the Fyens, Aalborg, Viborg, Aarhus, Ribe and Haderslev dioceses is hereby advertised with start date 1 January 2027. The position is fixed-term for 4 years and expires on 31 December 2030.

The position is a secondary occupation.

Profile

The organ consultant must have passed a church music diploma examination from a Danish conservatory or an equivalent foreign qualification approved as such. The person employed in the position may not have a financial interest in companies that manufacture, trade in, or repair organs or organ accessories.

Tasks

The organ consultant's area of expertise is organ matters and other matters of significance for the musical performance in the churches. The organ consultant shall, upon request, provide statements in matters relating to the consultant's area of expertise. In addition, the organ consultant provides advice and guidance to parish councils and provost committees that request it.

The organ consultant also participates as needed in the diocesan consultant rounds, where we, among other things, visit churches in the diocese where a parish council has wishes or plans for a project.

During the consultant rounds the project is discussed with the parish council, and where the organ consultant brings in his/her expertise together with the diocese's other consultants. Approximately 4 consultant rounds are held per year in each diocese.

As an organ consultant you work as an adviser to the church authorities according to the rules in:

Please note that the Ministry of Health and the Church expects to issue revised administrative regulations for consultation during September 2026. A change in the consultants' areas of responsibility is planned, and the changes will therefore be relevant for upcoming appointments. The ministry expects to adopt the administrative regulations in October–November 2026.

It is important to note that as an organ consultant you may not undertake design tasks for parish councils within the diocese you are employed by, unless the diocese exceptionally approves it.

Remuneration

The remuneration as of 1 January 2026

• Advisory matters pursuant to § 8 in Circular No. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on a common procedure for the Church of Denmark's consultants: 1,236.00 DKK per hour.
• Statements pursuant to § 7, para. 1, in Circular No. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on a common procedure for the Church of Denmark's consultants: 1,854.00 DKK per statement.

The remuneration includes vacation pay of 12.5%, while VAT does not apply.

Rates are adjusted annually on 1 January.
