We are seeking a visionary and dynamic chief physician for M21 – a well-established ward with a good working environment and a highly competent multidisciplinary staff.

The job

Department M has 20 years of experience in the care and treatment of patients with dual diagnoses. We therefore help patients who have both a mental disorder and an addiction.

The ward's patients are admitted to programmes that typically last 3 months. We work from an integrated approach to the patients’ dual-diagnosis issues and systematic patient pathways descriptions.

Involvement of both patients and relatives in the treatment and care is taken for granted, and we almost never use coercion.

To the ward is attached a special psychologist, training doctors and a pharmacist.

The job also involves an education and teaching function, to be agreed on a continuous basis.

A little about us and our treatment approach

The department is situated in scenic surroundings by Roskilde Fjord and consists of 3 integrated around-the-clock units with space for 76 patients, an outpatient clinic with day care and a large outreach function across the region.

Department M is normed for 6 chief physicians in addition to the head physician, 2 department physicians, and 6 doctors in main training programs.

We work from a shared treatment philosophy where cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy are fully integrated into the approach to the patients and the department’s culture.

The staff are offered continuous professional upgrading, which provides a high professional level and a strong organizational understanding in the multidisciplinary treatment teams.

We are looking for a chief physician who

You must be a physician with a specialty in psychiatry and qualified as a chief physician. Experience in addiction or dual-diagnosis treatment, leadership and cognitive/dialectical behavior therapy is an advantage.

Salary and terms of employment

Starting January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

You will be employed in accordance with the collective agreement for senior physicians with salary placement as chief physician, including the provisions of the agreement on working hours. As a chief physician in Region Hovedstadens Psykiatri you will have on-call obligations.

The region is a 24/7 area, and you will, according to concrete need, be scheduled with shifts at other times in accordance with the rules in the current working time agreement/the working time rules in the collective agreement.
