About the job

Juliane Marie Center, Rigshospitalet

The Department of Gynecology, Fertility and Births is looking for a chief physician in gynecology who is particularly interested in the treatment of transgender patients as well as gynecological endocrinology.

We are seeking a chief physician who is visionary and interested in working across disciplines in the treatment of transgender patients and who can contribute to setting a direction and developing the patient offering in collaboration with the rest of the team. You will particularly be responsible for the outpatient activity in the Hormone Outpatient Clinic as well as for collaboration with external cooperation relationships.

The Center for Gender Identity (CKI) is an independent specialized function located in the Teilum Building on the Rigshospitalet campus and consists of a team with a research assistant, 4 nurses, 2 secretaries and 2 doctors. We work in close multidisciplinary collaboration with primarily psychologists and psychiatrists from the Sexology Clinic as well as plastic surgeons. It is an area in constant development with continued growing demand. Today we receive about 400 new patients per year.

The department's function is characterized by extensive clinical activity. This places high demands on good collaboration and communication skills both within the field and cross-disciplinary. We expect that you have experience in the treatment of transgender patients as well as gynecological endocrinology.

Documented research activity and interest in continuing to develop the research in hormonal treatment of transgender patients as well as gynecological endocrinology will be included in the evaluation of applicants. The department has extensive research activity, and we expect the specialists to contribute to this development, either in the form of their own research or by guiding younger colleagues.

You will also have a role in the Center for Sexual Assault and experience in this field is therefore an advantage.

We are, besides, a department with high ceilings and equally high ambitions. Our working environment is characterized by strong professionalism, a good tone of voice and good humor. You can read more about the department on our website:

We expect, in return, that you

  • Have Danish specialist recognition and be trained as a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics.
  • Have research experience, preferably by obtaining a PhD.
  • Have clinical experience in the treatment of transgender patients
  • Face challenges with good humor and a constructive approach.

The assessment of the applicants' professional qualifications will be based on the applicant's information about their own competencies within each of the 7 competence areas, cf. ”Guidelines for professional assessment of applicants to consultant positions in the Capital Region of Denmark” from 2007, which can be seen at www.regionh.dk

The application should be accompanied by a copy of the specialist authorization, curriculum vitae containing a list of publications with indication of the 10 most important publications. Publications will be requested if desired.
