Chief physician sought for the Clinic for Depression, Department of Depression and Anxiety, AUH

Are you keen to contribute to the diagnostic workup and treatment of one of the major public health diseases in Denmark?

This in collaboration with a highly qualified, engaged and well-functioning multidisciplinary staff group that is very committed to working with the target group. We are seeking as of January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter a senior physician (consultant) for the Department of Depression and Anxiety, Clinic for Depression.

Clinic for Depression

The Clinic for Depression is a clinic under the (ADA) Department of Depression and Anxiety.

We are a team of 55 employees consisting of doctors, specialist psychologists, psychologists, nurses, a social worker and an administrative secretariat. All with strong professional pride in a good multidisciplinary collegial environment.

The clinic consists of two treatment teams as well as the country’s largest ECT/TMS unit. We have a regional function for pregnant women in close collaboration with the obstetric department and infant psychiatry. We have a regional function for complex depression with advisory support to regional psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and more.

The target group is patients with moderate to severe depression, often complex depression with multiple treatment courses in primary care.

We work with intensified diagnostic workup and treatment of patients aged 18-26 who are newly debuted in the secondary sector.

We work purposefully based on a bio-psycho-social understanding of the patient with a focus on the whole from the start of treatment.

We carry out diagnostic assessment within the entire ICD-10, as patients with depression in the secondary sector often have a high degree of comorbidity or other psychopathology.

Treatment focuses on biological treatment, assessment of potential somatic conditions, medication, ECT/TMS, social screening and initiation of social measures as well as psychoeducation/psychotherapy. We have well-functioning group offerings, where we primarily work from the cognitive reference framework, but all references are welcome in the overall understanding of the patient.

Research

ADA has an active research department that contributes to research of a high international standard, and you as a specialist physician will have the opportunity to participate in research projects with the possibility of partial release from clinical duties for research.

Education

ADA places a high value on education and, as a university hospital, we provide training for all professional groups, both pre- and post-graduate. Everyone is part of the educational environment. It is also highly emphasized that permanent staff continue their development and continuing education.

Duty

You will participate in specialist physician on-call duties with about 1-2 shifts per month.

We are looking for a colleague with the following qualifications

• Specialist in Psychiatry or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with broad general psychiatric experience
• Interest in the affective domain
• Interest in developmental work
• That you are a team player and value multidisciplinary collaboration
• That you are engaged, caring and clear in contact with patients, relatives and colleagues
• That you can work independently, in a structured way and think organizationally.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Employment is conditional on a satisfactory child and criminal record check and a satisfactory authorization.

The applicant's qualifications will be assessed according to the 7 medical roles. The 7 medical roles are filled in connection with the application.
