Educator for middle forms and after-school pedagogical development at SFO Thorvald

SFO Thorvald, which is part of the School at Bülowsvej, is seeking a trained pedagog (teacher) who would like to help create quality, meaning, and coherence between school and leisure in our intermediate forms.

An important role in the children's daily life

Intermediate forms are Frederiksberg Municipality's offering to children who need extra attention and support to participate in the community at a mainstream primary school and SFO (school leisure).

With us, the effort is organized around two mini-rooms, which function either as a fixed base or as a safe place to retreat to, depending on the individual child’s needs. The mini-rooms also contain a portion of the school’s special educational resources and are therefore used by both referred children and children from the general area, who in periods benefit from the support and structure the mini-rooms offer.

We aim to create a leisure life with recognizable structures, meaningful activities, and strong relationships, and here you will become an important partner. You will have hours in both the school and after-school parts and will therefore get to know the children very well. At the same time, you will be an important, consistent, and reassuring adult in their daily life.

An workplace with professionalism and community

You will be part of a dedicated team of five staff with either teaching or pedagogical backgrounds. The team also has close sparring with a social-pedagogical and didactic supervisor, and you meet weekly to jointly develop practice and create the best framework for the children.

The work always starts from the children’s current needs. Therefore, the everyday life will be varied, and the organization may change along the way. It requires flexibility and curiosity, but also provides great opportunity to influence both content, methods, and development.

The SFO shares premises with the primary school and the mini-rooms. Each day our A-house forms the framework for school and leisure life for around 380 children, as well as a strong sense of community among 26 pedagogical staff.

Who are you?

Perhaps you have experience with children in vulnerable positions or children with diagnoses. Perhaps you come with strong curiosity and a desire to develop yourself within the field.

Salary and employment

The position is 37 hours per week and should be filled no later than 1 January 2027.

Employment is according to the applicable collective agreement. Before employment, a child safety check (§ 36) and a standard criminal record check (§ 11) will be retrieved.
