At Vandværket we are developing a new organization where our children on basis places become part of our three general nursery rooms. The starting point is that all children should feel themselves as a meaningful part of a children’s community – also when they need close guidance, clear structure or other pedagogical frameworks to participate.

Participation opportunities for all children

The basic children are part of our nursery rooms and thus also part of the shared pedagogical responsibility. We are looking for someone who wants to bring their professional knowledge into play and together with colleagues develop pedagogical practice that creates participation opportunities for all children.

We will together develop how we work with relationships, structure and organization as pedagogical tools that can be adapted to the current group of children and the community we want to create. For us, clear structure and flexibility are not opposites. A well-thought-out organization should enable us to adjust practice when the children’s group calls for something else.

What we hope you will contribute

You are a trained pedagogue, professionally curious, strong in relationship work and take responsibility for the shared pedagogical practice. You bring your knowledge into play, share your perspectives and are at the same time open to us becoming wiser together. You can be experienced or newly trained. The most important thing is that you want to actively participate in the development of a daily life where different children can thrive, develop and be meaningful participants in the community.

Good framework for the pedagogical work

Vandværket has unusually good physical conditions with plenty of space both indoors and outdoors, separate playgrounds, a large hall and several functionally designed rooms. The physical framework gives us something special to work with: possibilities for both smaller communities, calm, movement and larger joint activities – and to organize ourselves differently throughout the day. You will also become part of a large and professionally engaged staff group with good opportunities for sparring and weekly staff meetings.

About us

Børnebyen Vandværket is a large integrated institution with a nursery, kindergarten, basis places and an international department. We are part of the Tivoli cluster and located centrally in Copenhagen near the Central Station and Tivoli.

Salary and employment terms

The position is basically 37 hours per week with working hours between 7.00 and 17.00.

Start date January 1, 2027.

Salary and employment terms according to applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation. We obtain child and criminal records checks and take references in connection with the appointment.
