About the job

About the job

At Frederiksbjerg School we are looking for an educator for a permanent 25-hour position in the school's resource team, which works with inclusive learning communities. You will help create the framework for the best possible learning and wellbeing for all children. You will contribute to the special educational initiatives at Frederiksbjerg School in collaboration with the other educators in the resource team and the school learning and wellbeing advisor.

This can take the form of observations in the classroom, guidance and sparring for educational staff, as well as special educational interventions in the school's interform Oasis.

There will be elements of support for individual pupils and coordinating work related to setting up network meetings, participation therein, minutes role as well as advisory and coordinating role in relation to further educational actions with focus on the pupils' academic development, wellbeing and participation. You should contribute with knowledge and support the planning of effective actions so that all pupils have the best possible opportunities to learn, thrive and participate actively in the community.

Everything takes place in close collaboration between teams, management and parents. In addition to teaching time with the children, there will be collaboration time in meetings and time for preparation.

Your profile

You are trained as an educator and have knowledge of and/or experience with special educational tasks in the school. The ability to form relationships with the children is central, as is an inclination to see strengths in all children and help them further in their development, both academically and socially. You must be able to present yourself calmly, even in situations where the children's nervous systems are not completely calm.

It is expected that you can see behind behavior and meet the children in their emotions and needs. At the same time you can maintain an overview of different task types and work in a structured way. When others see a closed door, you are able to spot opportunities and help the door to open a little more. You present yourself in a welcoming way and can collaborate with many different groups. Writing of action plans and minutes comes naturally to you.

Along with us you have high ambitions to succeed as best as possible with the children's development in the Danish primary school. At the same time you master the ability to hit the reset button, laugh, and start over if an experience requires a fresh start.

Why you should choose us

Frederiksbjerg School is located in a central and attractive part of downtown Aarhus. Here 820 children and about 100 leaders and staff have an active daily life.

The school is the natural first choice for most local children, just as there is a high demand for the school from children from outside the area. It is not without reason. Frederiksbjerg School was inaugurated in 2016 and is equipped with subject rooms, lounge areas, presentation ramps and climbing walls that support the school's pedagogy and didactics. The school has a strong movement DNA and is designed with 100 different movement opportunities. You can get an insight into the school's layout and pedagogy here: About the school (aarhus.dk) .

The school has three departments, each with its own educational leader. The primary school, where we work according to the KRAI principles (Competence-Determined Rolling Age-Integrated Lower School), the middle school, where we work with subject clusters, and the upper school, where we have line classes that pupils prioritize by interest. You can get an introduction to the three departments here: How we teach (aarhus.dk) .

The school’s active outdoor areas and large terraces are used in play and teaching. They also invite close interaction with local residents who use the school’s facilities. The school uses city and local area facilities – sports facilities, swimming pool, etc. The school is located close to forest and beach, so in many ways Frederiksbjerg School is a rural school in the city centre.

We look forward to welcoming you to the resource team, where we have high expectations of each other and of the children, but there is also room to breathe and space for us all to be different, both children and adults. The resource team consists of four other educators and a learning and wellbeing advisor who performs a coordinating function for the resource team.
