Pedagogical assistant for Melius Houses – we need more helping hands

Melius Husene is growing. We have admitted new residents and therefore are looking for a pedagogical assistant who wants to become part of the everyday life in our two houses.

We have a strong professional competence in the houses and skilled staff who set the pedagogical direction. Now we need more hands—and a person with drive, heart, and commitment, who wants to be close to the residents and at the same time take part in all the practical things that make a home and everyday life function.

Nærvær og omsorg i hverdagen

Presence and care in everyday life

At Melius Husene we work to create homely and secure surroundings. It is the residents' home, and therefore everyday life should also have the character of ordinary everyday life.

As a pedagogical assistant your most important task is to be present. To have time for a walk, help with an activity, be together over a meal or simply be close when a resident needs calm, care and presence.

Our residents have different support needs, and you will always work within the professional framework laid around each individual.

You therefore do not stand alone with the pedagogical responsibility. You will become part of a house with experienced and professionally strong colleagues whom you can spar with and learn from.

You must also be keen to roll up your sleeves

A home consists of more than pedagogy.

There is laundry, tidying up, cooking, shopping and a lot of small and large practical tasks to be solved during a day. It is a natural part of the position, and we therefore seek a colleague who sees what is missing and takes action.

One hour you can be out with a resident, the next you help with dinner, handle the laundry or get something practical in the house under control.

For us it goes hand in hand. The homely surroundings and the practical tasks are also part of creating a good and safe everyday life.

Who are we looking for?

We are first and foremost looking for the right person.

You do not need to be a trained pedagogue, but we expect that you have relevant experience with people with special needs and a desire to develop yourself in the work.

We hope that you

• meet people with care, respect and curiosity
• have drive and take initiative
• can create calm and be present
• enjoy both the company of the residents and the practical tasks
• can follow the pedagogical direction laid by the professional team
• are stable and take responsibility for your part of daily life
• can work independently, but also know when to ask a colleague
• contribute with good energy and engagement in the house.

We have grown more—and therefore we also need more staff

The intake of new residents means that Melius Husene is in development. It is an exciting period in which new everyday lives, relationships and routines must take shape.

Therefore we need more hands.

We are looking for a pedagogical assistant who wants to become part of what we are building – and who understands that good work sometimes lies in the pedagogical effort and other times in a cup of coffee, a walk, a meal, clean laundry or simply being present.

With us there should be room to think big, room for questions and the opportunity to contribute input. We listen to our employees, and we believe the best everyday life is created together.

If you have experience, heart, drive and a desire to make a difference in completely ordinary everyday life, we would like to hear from you.
