About the job

Do you have an educational background, are you currently in training, or do you have a particular interest in the hearing area and communication? Are you also engaged and good at building relationships? Then perhaps you are the person we are looking for to fill a special support role in the upper grades at Lyreskovskolen.

The position is fixed-term at 23 hours per week, commencing on December 1, 2026. The appointment runs until June 30, 2027.

About Lyreskovskolen

Lyreskovskolen has about 450 pupils, including a special center with about 34 pupils. The total staff consists of 50 teachers and pedagogues, three department heads, one principal and 8 service staff. We are happy to share our extensive professional knowledge, good humor and much experience.

We want to be a school where students and staff thrive, develop and feel they are an important part of the community.

We work purposefully with professional development, professional learning communities and close collaboration between staff, management and parents.

With us there should be room for professionalism, curiosity and humor. We believe that engagement is contagious – and that the best solutions often emerge when we develop them together.

About the job

You will become part of our upper grades and will have a special pedagogical support task concerning a girl in the upper grades who needs compensatory support.

The task primarily focuses on creating good conditions for the student to participate in teaching and the school's community.

You will have a close collaborative relationship with the student’s teachers and the school's other professional specialists. There will also be opportunities for guidance and collaboration with relevant professionals within the hearing area.

About you

We expect you to be professionally

  • are a trained pedagogue, pedagogical assistant or a pedagogy student
  • have an interest in or are studying within audiology, audiologopedics or another relevant hearing or communication-related field
  • have experience with or an interest in children and young people with special needs
  • have an interest in communication and compensatory support
  • can communicate clearly

The most important is not your title, but your interest in the task, your ability to build a good relationship and your desire to learn.

We expect that you personally

  • are calm, patient and present
  • are good at building relationships
  • can work independently while also being part of a close team
  • are curious and want to learn new things
  • can see opportunities and resources rather than limitations
  • have a sense of when to support and when to step back
  • want to work with young people in the upper grades

Your tasks

You should, among other things

  • support the pupil’s participation in teaching
  • contribute to structure and overview in the school day
  • be aware of communicative barriers and help create access to information
  • support the use of relevant compensatory aids according to guidance
  • support the pupil’s participation in the academic and social community
  • help the pupil develop greater independence
  • work closely with teachers, management and relevant professionals
  • help create a safe and predictable school day.

You do not have to be the one who takes over the teaching. Your role is to support the pupil’s opportunity to participate and be part of the community.

We offer

  • a meaningful and defined support task
  • close collaboration with teachers and the school leadership
  • opportunities for professional sparring and guidance
  • collaboration with relevant professionals within the hearing area
  • the opportunity to gain experience in inclusion and compensatory support
  • a workplace focused on community, respect, openness and development.
