We are looking for 2 pedagogical assistants for our toddler unit, 32–37 hours per week with start on January 1, 2027

Then maybe you are the one we are looking for at Børnehuset Skrænten! We are looking for 2 pedagogical assistants for our toddler unit for children aged 0–2 years, who want to become part of our everyday life and community.

Who are we?

Børnehuset Skrænten is an integrated day-care facility in Roskilde Municipality, normed to 59 children. With us, children should feel safe, feel that they belong, and feel that they are important to the community.

We are focused on creating a daily life where there is room for diversity, curiosity, good relationships and lots of play. We meet the children with warmth, recognition and an interest in who they are and what they are focused on.

We believe that children do their best, and that it is our job as adults to help them succeed, feel part of the community and notice new possibilities.

A daily life with presence, care and play

In the toddler unit, the small moments are often the big ones. It could be a smile, a child taking their first steps toward new experiences, the joy of discovering something new or the feeling of being met by an adult who has time and a desire to be right there.

We know that the youngest children need safe and present adults who are attentive to their signals, follow their initiatives and help them explore the world at their own pace.

Therefore we are looking for you, who want to be close to the children and actively participate in their daily life. You do not need to have all the answers in advance. The most important thing is that you are curious, caring and eager to learn together with the children and your colleagues.

In everyday life we work, among other things, with the following

• Create safe relationships where each child feels seen, met and understood.
• Support the children's well-being, development and curiosity through play and presence.
• Create small, safe child communities where the children gradually get to know each other.
• Follow the children's initiatives and make room for their ideas and interests.
• Use our outdoor areas and local surroundings actively so the children have the opportunity to explore the world around them.
• Create a recognizable daily life with care, presence and room for each child's needs.
• Collaborate closely with parents and colleagues on the children's well-being and development.

Your daily life will be close to the children – both in play, routines and the activities that arise during the day, indoors as well as outdoors. It could be singing a song, reading a book, exploring something exciting on the playground, helping a child find calm or being the safe adult who is right there where you are needed.

As a pedagogical assistant you are an important part of the children's daily life. Your observations, initiatives and the way you meet the children matter. You do not need to be a trained pedagogical professional to make a difference – the most important thing is that you want to contribute and be an active part of the community.

You may have experience from a day-care setting – or you may be entering the pedagogical field for the first time. Experience is certainly not a requirement. The most important is your motivation, your approach to the children and your desire to be part of our community.

Practical information

• Working hours: 32-37 hours per week.
• Start date: 01.01.2027

• Interview: Interviews will be conducted continuously in November.
• Salary and terms of employment: According to current collective agreement.
