About the job

Do you love to see children with special needs flourish?

Here is a unique opportunity to start off in the best possible way. In this position you will get a unique chance to combine your passion for special pedagogy, the playful approach and the opportunity to help build Denmark's best special school with KKFO.

In the City of Copenhagen, a completely new Category 4 special school will be built, which will be located in Amager in Ørestad Syd, close to large nature areas and Naturcenter Amager among others. The school will be a city-wide special school with KKFO and will work closely with the four Category 4 special schools that already exist in Copenhagen. The school is only completed in 2031, but we already have eight classes and 80 staff at the school, which right now are located in the middle of Amager on two sites.

You will, together with your colleagues, play a key role in ensuring that the children experience a holistic everyday life with coherence from teaching to the leisure activities in KKFO.

The children at our school have a great need for structure, predictability and close adult support, and with us management, pedagogues, teachers and assistants therefore work closely together to create the very best days for all our children with their many different prerequisites and challenges.

As an employee with us you will

  • a meaningful job, where you create a school/KKFO day, where we prioritise the children's well-being and development
  • a good and professional colleague group, where you are not alone – we back each other up, share knowledge and burdens and support each other in daily work
  • a happy group of children in well-being
  • life-affirming meetings with children who see the world as particularly special
  • an opportunity to make use of all your professional expertise - and preferably in a creative way
  • room to create a good structure, but also to continuously adjust the pedagogical methods so they fit the children's development and challenges
  • opportunity for professional growth, as we continuously offer competence development so you can strengthen your pedagogical insight and other professional qualifications.

We would like some of your strengths to be

  • knowledge of the children's group needs – you have an interest in or knowledge of the various challenges of special children and understand how to create the right framework both in school and KKFO time
  • knowledge of special pedagogical tools – you may be familiar with methods such as TEACCH, Low Arousal, KRAP or PECS – and know how they are used to support children's social, emotional and cognitive development
  • a development-oriented attitude – you will continuously optimise our pedagogical practice and ensure we are at the forefront of children's needs
  • a innovative approach – you see opportunities in helping to build a school and especially KKFO from the ground up and would like to contribute to developing an amazing special school for our children
  • that you thrive in a close and rewarding team collaboration with several different professional groups.

Employment terms
