About the job

How do you lead a children's house with high pedagogical quality when you have 60 infants, 70 preschoolers, a large outdoor area, ample indoor space and Islands Brygge's many opportunities for play and movement right outside the door? This is part of the leadership task awaiting you at Snorretoppen.

Snorretoppen is a large, integrated children's house on Snorresgade 12 in Islands Brygge, where nature, movement and play are a clear part of the pedagogical practice.

A leadership task where you must both unite and develop

Snorretoppen was brought together in a single house on a single property two years ago, which we greatly value, and we are still working on developing the shared organization and practice. In the infant department, many staff have joined within a relatively short time. Here the task is to consolidate a common culture and practice so that new and experienced colleagues experience clear direction and coherence in daily life.

In the preschool, there is important development work around the professional working community. We have staff who want the best for each other and the children, and the willingness to succeed together is present. Your task will be to support that willingness so that it translates into strong collaboration, clear shared expectations and an educational practice where we take responsibility for both our own room and the entire Snorretoppen.

When we look a year ahead, we want to stand with a children's house where the collaboration between the infant room and the preschool has become even stronger, and where the staff experiences themselves as one workforce that together achieves quality in the core task. Your task is therefore to be a clear and accessible leader close to everyday practice, who understands the importance of developing relationships at Snorretoppen. You are also a leader who is ambitious for the sake of the community, so that we jointly follow agreements to the letter and continuously adjust our agreements together.

A large house offers great pedagogical possibilities

Snorretoppen's size provides opportunities that smaller houses do not have, e.g., a large shared motor skills room and a big playground. You also get Rasmus close by as an educator with a management role. The majority of his work time is allocated to leadership tasks, which gives you and Snorretoppen extra leadership capacity in daily life.

Snorretoppen has received a substantial financial grant to further develop our playground. The playground will be one of your first tasks to prioritise, so that the playground can more strongly support our pedagogical ambitions. We are looking for someone who thrives on development and who can see the opportunities in a large house and translate those opportunities into quality in the children’s daily lives.

Snorretoppen is a large preschool in an ambitious cluster. This is expressed in several ways, for example by the fact that we have four of our good staff members in the process of merit-based teacher education alongside their work, and we have three who are participating in a one-year course in 'body, motor skills and pedagogical exercise' together with colleagues from the cluster's other children's houses. For all staff, there is funded full substitute coverage so that we can balance daily operations with the ambition to develop our pedagogical practice.

You will become part of Cluster B on Amager, where we have high ambitions for both pedagogy and our leadership community

You will become part of the leadership community in Amager Cluster B with six pedagogical leaders and will receive close sparring with cluster leader Mads Nielsen and the cluster's other pedagogical leaders. We have a cluster leadership meeting every other week and a network for pedagogical leaders every four weeks. In Cluster B we believe that no one is best alone. Therefore we share experiences, challenge each other professionally and work together to develop good pedagogy and leadership.

We are seeking a leader who is curious about how the framework can be used even better – and who can involve staff in turning ideas into a shared and sustainable practice.

We know that no one can know everything – but we are looking for someone who can see themselves in most of this

  • You are educated as a pedagog and have experience with leadership – either as a manager or from a role with coordinating or professional leadership responsibility
  • You can create direction and structure in a large house and at the same time be close enough to daily life to know what children and staff need
  • You have a sense of the working community and can support clear expectations, professional collaboration and shared responsibility for the core task
  • You are reflective and professionally curious and can connect experience, data, theory and knowledge about practice when making leadership decisions
  • You are persistent – you know that culture and shared practice develop through the choices we repeat, and you follow up even when daily life is busy.
  • You are inclusive and can create processes where staff and parents feel heard while also making it clear where the leadership responsibility lies

If you have a diploma in leadership or another relevant further education, that is a plus – but the most important is that you want and can do leadership and can see yourself in the development task that Snorretoppen stands before it.
