Pedagogical leader/advisor for Special Competence Holstebro, Dept. Storå, Vingehøj and Nørreland

Do you want to qualify, support and facilitate pedagogical learning processes for Holstebro municipality's most vulnerable students?

Special Competence Holstebro seeks a professionally strong, visionary and action-oriented pedagogical leader/mentor for our departments Storå, Vingehøj and Nørreland at Odinsvej.

The position is anchored in our management team, and you will have the pedagogical leadership of our internal resource team, Pedagogical Specialties (PS) , for the departments at Odinsvej.

Furthermore, your absolute core task will be to provide close sparring and practice-oriented guidance to the pedagogical staff across the three departments.

We are seeking a colleague for our management team (consisting of three department leaders, a vice principal and a principal), who through inclusive leadership will co-create the foundation that makes our students life-capable – academically, socially and personally.

Who are Pedagogical Specialties?

In Pedagogical Specialties we believe that specialist knowledge yields the greatest benefit when applied very close to practice. We are a multidisciplinary mentoring team of physiotherapists and teachers, who all support the school's total staff in succeeding with our core task.

We work strategically based on Holstebro Municipality's ’Common Pedagogical Foundation’ and the strategy Common Direction . Our task is to gather, coordinate and translate the extensive specialist knowledge found at the school so that it is actively accessible in everyday life.

As a leader and mentor in PS you help build bridges between theory, municipal strategies and the everyday concrete and complex learning processes.

A highly specialized target group and everyday life

You will work closely with our two skilled physiotherapists who handle educationally related therapy at the most advanced special provision in Holstebro Municipality – Storå and Vingehøj departments. Our students at Odinsvej have complex developmental, cognitive and social challenges:

• A large part of the student group has pervasive developmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and ADHD, often in combination with other diagnoses and functional impairments.
• Many of the students have significant cognitive difficulties, including developmental delay/intellectual disability, as well as multiple disabilities.

You must therefore be able to navigate in a highly specialized practice field where structure, communication, relationship work, learning and well-being go hand in hand.

Your primary tasks

As a pedagogical leader/mentor you will bring your special educational knowledge directly into practice through the following tasks:

• Set direction: Set the course for the departments, guide the direction of pedagogical development in close collaboration with management and staff
• Practice-oriented guidance: Provide professional sparring, advice and supervision to teachers and pedagogues in complex student cases.
• Pedagogical initiatives: Carry out pedagogical initiatives in complex student and parent cases
• Observation and assessment: Conduct pedagogical observations, screenings and assessments of students' well-being and learning prerequisites.
• Culture and competency development: Facilitate workshops, courses and pedagogical processes that support Holstebro Municipality's common pedagogical foundation.
• Bridge-building and learning communities: Work closely with department leaders to link leadership visions with everyday life. You support professional learning communities where staff in a group translate data and knowledge into actions that strengthen the students.

We are looking for a profile who

• Have solid experience within the most advanced special area (ASD, ADHD, multiple functional impairments, intellectual disability etc.) and relevant special education advanced education such as a pedagogical diploma education.
• Master the role of mentor, possess strong communication skills and be able to listen, challenge and guide professional colleagues to create buy-in.
• Maintain calm in a changing environment and can translate complex pedagogical theories into concrete, structured methods in daily life.
• Work affirmatively, have strong relational skills and contribute to an inclusive culture where well-being and job satisfaction among colleagues, staff, students and parents are developed continuously.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is a permanent appointment at 37 hours per week with start February 1, 2027 . Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the principles of New Pay.
