About the job

Pedagogical staff sought for the secure treatment institution Grenen-Dalstrup, particularly the highly secure South department

Is it important to you to work somewhere you can make a difference for vulnerable and at-risk children and young people? Do you want to be part of an organization where you can specialize and develop your professional as well as personal competencies in a meaningful and challenging daily life? And are you ready to commit to professionalism and collaboration as the key to succeeding with the core task?

Welcome to Grenen-Dalstrup

The secure treatment institution Grenen-Dalstrup is part of the Special Area for Criminally At-Risk and Judged Children and Young People (DOK) in the Central Region. Grenen-Dalstrup currently consists of three secure departments (North, Crown, and the View) as well as a specially secured department (South), where there is room and heart for a total of 19 children and young people aged 12-18 years.

In the special area DOK, the core task is to deliver services at a highly specialized level to some of the most vulnerable children and young people in Denmark.

Grenen-Dalstrup receives youths who are primarily placed due to charges of crime, abuse, or other behavior that poses a danger to the youth themselves or others. In addition, we often receive youths who are diagnosed with or are being assessed for mental disorders and behavioral disturbances, which is why there is close collaboration with DOK's internal psychology department and an externally attached psychiatrist.

What is special about the South department is that here live youths with severe psychologically deviant behavior, which entails a broader support need that cannot be accommodated in the ordinary secure departments. The youths are often connected to psychiatry.

You will become part of…

… a dedicated and engaged work community that every day strives to create safety, stability and well-being, which promotes development in the youths who live here, usually for a shorter period. We strive to leave positive marks in the youths’ lives and we meet the youths with warmth , clear frameworks and professionalism , because we believe that small changes can have a big impact. It demands something from us – both as people and as professionals.

We are looking for you who

Have professional and personal competencies to function and succeed as a pedagogical role model and caregiver. This includes meeting our youths with presence and clarity, as well as the ability to be attuned, in contact, and maintain an overview, even in pressured situations. You set boundaries in a way that reflects calm, maturity and composure, and you are able to act decisively.

In collaboration with your colleagues, you contribute to creating an environment where we help each other handle the high emotional demands that can be experienced in daily life with children and youths in chaotic life situations. Based on knowledge of trauma psychology and relational work.

A meaningful everyday life
