About the job

Do you want to help create a daily life where strong pedagogy, collaboration and citizens' development go hand in hand? Then it may be you we are looking for.

We are seeking a pedagogue for the residence Vinklen, Team 1 in a permanent position of 37 hours per week in Østerbro, who wants to be part of the exciting task of both maintaining and further developing a residential facility, where we together work to create the best possible framework for 29 fantastic citizens with cognitive disabilities aged approx. 20-60 years.

The residence's 29 residents are distributed over two teams, and you will be attached to Team 1.

As part of the team you will have the opportunity to contribute to the pedagogical professionalism and make your mark on the development of the residence together with the residents and your colleagues. Team 1 consists of five pedagogues. In addition there are four colleagues in Team 2, a awake night shift and a pool of skilled substitute workers. You will thus be part of a work environment with strong professional strengths.

Who is Vinklen?

The residence Vinklen belongs to the Social Administration in the City of Copenhagen. Vinklen has seven care facilities for people with cognitive disabilities and autism.

We prioritise the work environment highly and therefore work in co-governed teams. Employees share the traditional department head tasks, which gives you close access to decision-making processes, great influence on the daily planning of work and the possibility to delegate responsibility. You collaborate closely with management and the trusted representatives.

As a representative for your team you can among other things participate in committees and meeting forums on shift planning, IT and sensory profiles, economy and health-related issues.

You will become part of a workplace with high social capital. We focus on professional development through courses and theme days, so there are good opportunities for skill development – both on a small and larger scale – during your employment.

We offer among other things a massage scheme, the possibility for supervision, Friday bar and various staff traditions. It strengthens community and well-being and contributes to the energy we together use to solve the core task with the residents.

Our pedagogy is based on neuro-pedagogy. In the individually tailored plans with the residents we bring KRAP, Low Arousal (LA2), welfare technology as well as knowledge about AFS and neuropsychology into play. We work for instance with sub-goals in the Citizen's Plan and use the professional system DOMUS.

Vinklen also works with the project “A more independent life”, which is to support residents who dream of living more independently in the future. In the project we draw on inspiration from CTI (Critical Time Intervention) and parts of the Housing First principles. The residential leaders can elaborate the project.

About you

We imagine that you

  • enjoy professional challenges and want to work in a creative and solution-oriented environment with a positive view of people, where an inclusive, resource-focused and affirming approach is central
  • are inventive, responsible and loyal to the team and the daily pedagogical practice – and can keep overview and calm when many balls are in the air
  • are good at involving others and collaborating broadly – You can also work independently and purposefully and follow your tasks through
  • are educated as a pedagogue and can translate your professional knowledge and experience into practice – Newly trained pedagogues with a couple of years of experience are also very welcome to apply
  • have flair for professional documentation – We work in DOMUS and with sub-goals in relation to the Citizen's Plan
  • see the value of close and constructive collaboration with relatives, based on good and ongoing dialogue
  • see the importance of lifting tasks in the community, are loyal to joint decisions and can work self-leading in a co-governed team
  • can collaborate across disciplines with for example caseworkers and the health services
  • have experience with medication management – You will of course receive training
  • are willing to work about three evenings per week, every third weekend and on holidays. Holiday work is distributed on a rotating basis in the team. On weekdays meeting times are between 7.00 and 22.30. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays shifts alternate between about 7.30-14.30, 11.00-21.30 and 14.30-22.30.

We expect you to thrive in a changing and sometimes busy environment, where you share responsibility together with your colleagues.

On the other hand, we can offer you a varied and exciting everyday life. We want to be flexible regarding the work schedule, so you are very welcome to share your wishes in a potential interview.
