Permanent position - home economics and Danish teacher at Højvangskolen

Højvangskolen is looking for a skilled teacher. You must have a subject specialization or be competent to teach the following subjects as your main subjects:

• Home Economics
• Danish

In addition, the teaching task this school year will include regular teaching subjects. If you wish, there will of course in time be an opportunity to teach several of your main subjects.

A bit about the role

You will be assigned to our oldest department and will take on the Danish and class-teacher roles in one class. In addition, you will teach two elective groups in home economics. Start date will be as soon as possible or no later than December 1, 2026.

A bit about the workplace

Højvangskolen is located in the southwestern part of Aalborg Municipality in the area between Godthåb and Svenstrup. We are situated in a growth area with many children, and the school is physically located in green surroundings close to both city and countryside, with good bus and train connections. We have a general division with two tracks and a large special division and a total student body of just under 530.

The staff group consists of around 80 skilled adults with very different tasks. We are continually working to create an attractive workplace where each employee thrives and has the opportunity to develop together with the community. Community is also at the center when we work with the students. We have recently become certified as UNICEF Rights School and look forward to continuing that work. We strive to be a workplace where there is rarely a long way from thought to action, and every staff member has a high degree of influence on their own workday and their own work content.

We have a high enrollment rate in DUS, and in the general school section we admit about 470 students daily distributed across 10 grades, while our special department, Tingstedet, is normed for 60 students. The pedagogical staff is organized into four departments, DUS Højvang, Youngest department (0th – 4th grade), Oldest department (5th – 9th grade) and Tingstedet , which have close and interdependent collaboration around the students.
