As a physiotherapist at the upcoming health and care places in Svendborg, you will play an important role in citizens' rehabilitation journeys – and at the same time have the opportunity to help shape a new regional offering in Citizen-Centered Health at Odense University Hospital.

About the health and care places

From January 1, 2027, Citizen-Centered Health at Odense University Hospital will take over responsibility for the regional health and care places in Svendborg.

The places are aimed at citizens with a need for health professional interventions, treatment, care and rehabilitation for a period. Citizens primarily come from a hospital department, and the goal for most is that they can return to their own home.

In Svendborg, an offer with 16 places is established, where occupational and physical therapists, nurses, and social and health assistants work closely together. Our shared goal is to help the citizen return to their own life with dignity, efficient processes, and high professionalism.

We believe that rehabilitation is most successful when the citizen is an active co-player, and when the professions are brought into play across disciplines.

Your role as a physiotherapist

You will become a central part of the multidisciplinary team around the citizen.

Your tasks will include, among others

• examine, assess, and support the citizen's functional ability and rehabilitation needs
• plan and implement individual physiotherapy interventions
• work with mobility, functional ability and training in a targeted manner
• contribute to multidisciplinary assessments and joint plans for the citizen's course
• collaborate with citizens, relatives and relevant partners
• document and follow up on the physiotherapy interventions
• contribute to the development of professional practice and work routines.

Experience with rehabilitation, geriatrics, complex citizen journeys or cross-sector collaboration is an advantage but not a requirement.

About Citizen-Centered Health

Citizen-Centered Health is a new department at Odense University Hospital, established as part of the health reform.

The department shall support a closer, more coherent and equal health system and ensure professionally strong offers to citizens who need health services closer to their daily life.

From January 1, 2027, Citizen-Centered Health will among other things take over responsibility for health and care places and regional emergency nursing.

Employment terms

The position is generally 37 hours per week. In time, the working hours may also include day shifts on weekends.

The region is obligated to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension under the agreement for occupational therapists/physiotherapists and midwives – agreement 33.21.1.

In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
