Physiotherapist temporary position at Midt- og Vestsjællands Hospital Slagelse

We are seeking a physiotherapist for a temporary position in the Neurological-Geriatric team, until 31/12/2026.

We are seeking a physiotherapist who can step into our Neurological and Geriatric physiotherapy specialty group. That is, you should be able to handle physiotherapeutic tasks for primarily geriatric patients and secondarily for neurological patients.

The group handles physiotherapy in two geriatric medical-surgical wards and one neurological ward. Your focus will be in the geriatric wards unless you come with solid neurological experience.

In the geriatric departments, the majority of patients are hip-fracture patients and general geriatric illnesses. You must be able to assess patients’ current condition, compare it with their habitual condition, draw relevant conclusions, and lay out short- and long-term treatment plans, including preparing relevant rehabilitation plans or other plans for the patient and the follow-up after discharge.

We are 50 staff members, including 4 specialist physiotherapists, 1 project physiotherapist in psychiatry, 2 clinical instructors, 2 social and health care assistants, 2 secretaries, 1 deputy head and 1 chief physiotherapist. We are a dynamic department with a focus on professionalism, sparring, development and well-being. Interdisciplinarity is highly valued, as patient pathways require close collaboration with doctors, nursing staff and our occupational therapy colleagues to ensure the best possible quality: We have the patient in focus!

As we work at an acute hospital, everyday life will be variable. We plan, prioritize and structure, of course, to the widest extent possible, but we depend on us working well together and being willing to go the extra mile for the patient and our colleagues.

We are a teaching hospital for many physiotherapy students. We have clinical instructors, but physiotherapy as a whole participates in the collaboration to educate future physiotherapists.

We are busy and there are many tasks, so you must be good at prioritizing and acting in a complex patient-care environment.

You will of course receive a good introduction to your tasks, the hospital, workflows and your new partners. During the introductory period you will be assigned a mentor.

Starting salary for employees covered by an agreement

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told base pay, centrally fixed allowances and pension under the relevant agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
