About the job

Would you like to be a trusted sparring partner for leaders and contribute to developing HR support at Aarhus BSS?

Aarhus BSS HR & Ph.d. is seeking an HR partner with solid HR expertise and an interest in translating this into solutions that work in practice. The position involves advising managers, handling complex HR issues and developing good solutions in collaboration with the organisation. The role also requires good collaboration skills and the ability to navigate safely in the tension between advisory, development and operations and in both strategic and operational HR tasks.

About the position

As an HR partner you will be a central collaboration partner for the faculty's managers and an important part of the overall HR support at Aarhus BSS. Through professional advice and close collaboration with the faculty's institutes and administrative centre you contribute to creating good conditions for leadership, employees and the organisation.

The position gives you the opportunity to work broadly with HR in a complex knowledge organisation, where you both have responsibility, influence and the possibility to shape the development of the HR area at Aarhus BSS. Together with your colleagues you help ensure professional, coordinated and value-creating support for the whole faculty.

Your tasks

The HR partner role comprises a wide range of tasks within advisory, case handling and development of the HR area. The tasks include among other things:

  • Advice and sparring with managers on HR-related issues
  • Handling of personnel cases and support for managers in difficult conversations and processes
  • Advice and support to managers in connection with recruitment of scientific and administrative staff
  • Preparation of management information, analyses and decision basis
  • Participation in cross-cutting HR projects and networks at Aarhus University
  • Coordination of tasks and initiatives across the department's teams
  • Secretarial support of one or more committees at the faculty
  • Contribute to organisational development initiatives and support the faculty's work with digitalisation, AI and automation of work processes.

You will have a daily life with great variation, where you work with both operations, development and advisory. Some days focus on concrete personnel cases or recruitment processes, while other days you contribute to development initiatives in the department or cross-cutting HR & Ph.d. initiatives at the university.

As part of the partner team you also take responsibility for one or more HR specialisms, where you function as a specialist and internal advisor. Here you help develop processes, coordinate initiatives and ensure professional and consistent handling across the faculty. This could be within salary negotiations, performance development interviews (MUS), APV or other central HR processes.

Qualifications and competences

We imagine you have a solid HR foundation and thrive in the role of advisor and sparring partner for managers. You are curious about the organisation around you and motivated to find solutions that take into account both rules, people and the organisation's needs.

You work independently and in a structured way and take responsibility for your tasks, but you also see the value in strong collaboration and actively contribute to the department's community. At the same time you manage to build trustful relationships and meet both managers and colleagues with professionalism, presence and a solution-oriented approach.

We particularly value that you

  • Have a relevant master's degree and several years' experience with broad HR advisory
  • Can build credible relationships and function as a trusted sparring partner for managers at various levels
  • Quickly can understand new rules and complex issues and translate them into practical solutions
  • Work in a structured way and maintain an overview, even when many tasks are ongoing
  • Have good collaboration and communication skills and thrive working across disciplines
  • Have an eye for both detail and the larger organisational context
  • Can communicate professionally in Danish and English
  • Experience from a politically led organisation or insight into public administration would be an advantage. Experience from larger private organisations can also be relevant
