At Tolstrup-Stenum Free School we, due to rising pupil numbers, are seeking an engaged, clear and academically well-founded school pedagogue who can help create safe, inclusive and developmental learning environments.

We are looking for a school pedagogue who can take independent responsibility, work purposefully with pedagogical initiatives and engage in close professional collaboration with the school's teachers and other staff.

About the position

As a school pedagogue you will be an important part of the school's overall work with the pupils' well-being, learning and development.

The vast majority of your working time will be placed during the school day , where pedagogical support in teaching is a central part of your tasks. Here you will, in close cooperation with the teachers, contribute to creating good opportunities for pupil participation. This can involve support for individual students, small groups and work with the class's overall community.

A smaller part of the position will be tied to our outdoor after-school care, Spiloppen. Here your primary task is to support a smooth and safe transition from the school day to the after-school period. You will help create continuity, recognizability and coherence for the children when the school day ends and leisure time begins.

We desire a school pedagogue who has an eye for the child's overall day and understands the importance of familiar adults, clear frameworks and safe transitions.

Your tasks will include, among others

• Providing pedagogical support in teaching in close cooperation with the teachers.
• Planning, implementing and evaluating targeted pedagogical initiatives for pupils with different needs.
• Working proactively with well-being, social skills and inclusive child communities.
• Supporting structure, predictability and participation opportunities in the school day.
• Contributing to a safe and cohesive transition from the school day to the after-school time through a smaller portion of the working time in Spiloppen.
• Collaborating with colleagues and parents on the children's well-being and development.

Your professional profile

We are seeking a school pedagogue with strong relational competences and a well-developed pedagogical toolbox.

We expect that you

• Are a trained pedagogue, professionally strong and perhaps have experience from the school sector or similar pedagogical work with children of school age.
• Can provide pedagogical support in teaching and can engage in professional and binding collaboration with teachers.
• Have solid knowledge of children's development, relationship work and inclusive learning environments.
• Have experience with children in vulnerable positions and children with special pedagogical needs.
• Can work systematically and purposefully with observations, pedagogical initiatives and follow-up.
• Can create calm, structure and clarity in the students' school day.
• Can look beyond children's behavior and translate professional reflections into concrete pedagogical actions.
• Have an eye for the importance of good transitions and coherence in the child's overall day.
• Are independent, proactive and take responsibility for both own tasks and the shared pedagogical work.
• Can engage in a close, constructive and binding collaboration with colleagues and parents.
