About the job

Do you have experience with forecasts and data – and do you like to dive into the numbers and understand what lies behind them? Do you want to work with analyses and management information that is actively used in the municipality's planning and governance? Then we have an exciting position for you.

Høje-Taastrup Municipality is in rapid growth. In just a few years we have gone from 50,000 to 60,000 inhabitants – and the development continues. This places great demands on both physical and economic planning and makes a solid data basis absolutely essential.

We therefore seek a consultant who will take special responsibility for our population and sector forecasts, but who also will work more broadly with citizen data, data analyses and management information. The concrete task portfolio will be somewhat adapted to the competencies and experience you bring with you.

Forecasts are a backbone in our planning

An important part of the job will be working with our annual population forecast and the derived sector forecasts for the school and day care and elderly care sectors. The forecasts are crucial in the municipality's budgeting and capacity planning – for example when we need to assess the need for schools and day care in line with housing development and changes in the population composition.

You should therefore not only be interested in the result of a forecast but also in how we arrive at it. You should enjoy the technical and methodological part: work with calculation models and assumptions, monitor actual development, assess forecast accuracy and contribute to investigate why the development may diverge from expectations.

Data must be translated into knowledge that can be used

Forecast work will be your special area of responsibility, but it is not the whole job. You will also work with the municipality's citizen data and with analyses and management information across areas.

Depending on your profile and your competences, you may, for example, work with

  • analyzing the development of the municipality's population and different citizen groups
  • understanding, linking and analyzing data across systems and professional areas and translating them into new knowledge and developing management information that supports governance and decision-making
  • solving other data and analysis tasks together with colleagues in Budget and Analysis and the municipality's subject centers

The crucial thing is that you can both dive into data and calculations and also have the ability to see the bigger picture to understand how the results can be used in the municipal reality.

An independent professional responsibility – with good sparring partners

You will take over the forecast area from a colleague who over many years has built up extensive knowledge in the field and who has now retired. You will therefore have an independent professional responsibility, but you will not be left alone with the task.

We have a small team with fixed sparring partners around the forecast work, and you will work closely with, among others, financial consultants and colleagues who work with housing development, capacity planning and the relevant subject areas. At the same time you will be part of the ongoing professional sparring across Budget and Analysis.

We are looking for someone who

  • has a relevant higher education and as a starting point at least a couple of years of relevant work experience
  • ideally has experience with population forecasts, sector forecasts or other forecast work
  • ideally has experience with management information and with translating data into usable governance information – or is eager to develop in this area
  • has strong analytical skills and good numerical and data understanding
  • enjoys working thoroughly with data, calculations, models and assumptions
  • is curious about what lies behind the numbers and can see connections in larger data sets
  • has a fundamental understanding of how data are structured and connect in different systems – you do not need to be a database expert, but you should be curious about where data comes from and how they can be used
  • can work independently and at the same time thrive with close professional sparring and collaboration
  • can communicate complex analyses and results clearly and understandably

Knowing municipal data and the municipal reality is an advantage. The most important thing, however, is that you have the analytical ballast and the desire to understand data and models in depth and translate them into usable knowledge.

What do you get with us?

You will become part of Budget and Analysis, where we are 18 competent and engaged colleagues who work with financial management, forecasts, analyses, data and development tasks across the municipality.

We place emphasis on high professionalism, sparring and knowledge sharing, but also on well-being and humor – it should be fun to go to work. You will have great freedom to drive your tasks yourself, flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work 1-2 days a week.

You will be based at our award-winning town hall with modern, open office facilities and good transport and parking opportunities.

Practical information

The position is 37 hours per week with commencement on 1 December 2026, so you can get well onboarded ahead of the coming forecast season.

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the Ny Løn principles. We will obtain references from previous employments in connection with the appointment.

The application deadline is Thursday 22 October 2026 and we will conduct interviews in week 44 .

Applications, CV, diplomas and other relevant documentation are submitted via the municipality's recruitment system.

If you have questions, you are very welcome to contact Budget and Analysis Manager Maria Sørensen at phone 51 49 41 53 – feel free to text, and we will call you back.

We look forward to hearing from you.
