Project Manager for construction, renovation and conversion - contract employment

ABOUT THE JOB

Do you want to lead construction and redevelopment projects that make a real difference for citizens, users and staff?

In Rødovre Municipality we develop our buildings and physical frameworks. We renovate, redevelop and build new on, among other things, schools, day care institutions and culture and leisure facilities. This also includes buildings in social and elderly care.

We do not merely build square meters, but create the physical settings for learning, care, community and everyday life. Therefore we are now seeking an experienced project manager who can translate visions and needs into well-run construction projects with high quality, strong user involvement and secure progress.

Your primary tasks

As project manager you drive our construction projects through all phases. You become the link between users, advisors, contractors, management and other stakeholders. It is you who ensures that the projects reach a safe completion.

Your tasks will include, among others, to

• lead construction, renovation and redevelopment projects from idea to delivery
• ensure progress, quality, finances and risk management throughout the project lifecycle
• prepare decision proposals and presentations for management and political committees
• facilitate user involvement and stakeholder management
• manage external advisors and contractors
• ensure coordination across the organisation and between relevant disciplines
• support the development of the municipality's property portfolio and the long-term strategic goals.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to developing our project and programme work. This happens in an organisation with high ambitions for quality, sustainability and collaboration.

YOUR PROFILE

We imagine that you have experience with project management within construction, infrastructure or refurbishment of properties. You thrive in a role with many stakeholders and broad contact interfaces, and you manage to remain calm, keep an overview and act decisively, even when projects encounter unforeseen challenges. We emphasise that you can build trust and collaboration across disciplines and interests. You work in a structured way, keep an overview in complex processes and communicate clearly, precisely and professionally, both orally and in writing.

Additionally we would like you to

• have a relevant educational background, e.g. as engineer, architect, building constructor or similar
• have solid understanding of financial management, scheduling and contract terms
• work structured and maintain overview in complex processes
• communicate clearly, precisely and professionally both verbally and in writing
• thrive with responsibility and are motivated by achieving results through collaboration.

Experience from a public organisation is an advantage, but not a requirement.

SALARY AND EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

In accordance with the applicable collective agreement and after agreement with the representative negotiating organisation. The position is a fixed-term project employment with possibility of extension depending on tasks and projects. It is a full-time position starting January 2027.
