About the job

Job posting: Project Manager for 'Mellemtrinnet – New Ways into Communities'

Frivilligcenter Middelfart seeks an engaged and influential project manager for the three-year project 'Mellemtrinnet – New Ways into Communities', which runs from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2029.

The project is supported by the Nordea Foundation and aims to counter loneliness, geographic transport barriers and social divides by establishing 3–5 local meeting places in Middelfart Municipality. As the project manager you will be the central driving force in building the local cafés, training volunteers and facilitating collaboration with both municipal actors and the local voluntary sector.

Your main tasks

Establishment and operation of local meeting places: You will handle the local assessment, start-up and ongoing development of 3–5 open cafés located locally in Middelfart, Nørre Åby, Gelsted, Brenderup and Ejby.

Volunteer coordination and training: You will recruit, train and retain volunteer community ambassadors and bridge-builders who handle café hosting, one-to-one guidance and guided support out into the associations.

Operations of the project's three strands: You will coordinate and support the coherence between the open cafés, the individual bridge-building and the capacity development for 20–25 local associations.

Network and collaboration: You will maintain and expand the close collaboration with local referring actors such as the Job Center, 4Kløveren, Local Psychiatry, Housing Support and The Rehabilitation Team.

Steering group and evaluation: You will act as secretary for the project steering group, handle ongoing documentation via learning loops and focus groups, and prepare the project's final inspiration catalogue.

We envision that you

Have documented experience with project management, the start-up of new initiatives and facilitation of processes.

Possess strong pedagogical and relational competences as well as an understanding of citizens with mental vulnerability, low energy or fragile networks.

Have experience with recruiting, training and supporting volunteers in tasks with varying difficulty.

Are capable of creating and maintaining cross-sector collaborations across civil society, municipal departments and regional psychiatry.

Are strong in written communication, data collection and evaluation, so that the project's experiences can be translated into a lasting inspiration catalogue.

Local knowledge and networks are a definite advantage.

We offer

A meaningful project manager position anchored in Frivilligcenter Middelfart with a high degree of independence and methodological freedom.

Close professional sparring with the head of the Volunteer Center and administrative support for PR, accounting and meeting facilities.

An opportunity to work with direct and visible impact on citizens' wellbeing, self-confidence and mental health in Middelfart Municipality.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a fixed-term project contract with start 1 January 2027 and end 31 December 2029. The workplace is Frivilligcenter Middelfart with meetings and activities distributed across the municipality's local areas. We are not the payroll-paying employer.
