About the job

Would you like to help create the future nature, climate and water environment projects in close collaboration with landowners and local stakeholders?

In Slagelse Municipality we work with a range of exciting tasks in connection with the implementation of Grøn Trepart and the water area plans. Therefore we seek a skilled and engaged project manager who can translate ideas and plans into reality through dialogue, collaboration and strong project management.

We have many projects in the pipeline, including river projects, wetland projects, valley restorations and lowland projects. Several projects have already been pre-studied, and now we need a colleague who can create momentum and carry them through to realization.

About the position

As project manager you will be responsible for driving the projects from idea to reality.

A large part of the work is about people. You must be able to understand different interests and perspectives and create solutions that provide value to landowners, while ensuring the project's goals are met. The projects are not created behind a desk, but in dialogue with the people affected by them.

We are a politically governed organization, and you will work in the space between politicians, authorities, landowners and interest organizations. Therefore it is important that you can communicate clearly, navigate different interests and achieve results through dialogue and involvement.

Your main tasks will include

  • conduct landowner negotiations and stakeholder dialogue
  • develop and mature projects within rivers, wetlands and lowland
  • coordinate collaboration with advisers, contractors and authorities
  • prepare project materials and applications for relevant funding schemes
  • ensure progress, economy and quality throughout the project lifecycle
  • contribute to holistic solutions where regard for landowner interests, nature, biodiversity, climate and the water environment are considered together.

Who are you?

We expect you to have a natural science background, e.g., as biologist, geologist, agronomist, nature manager or similar. However, the most important is not your education but your ability to achieve results through collaboration and project management.

You should thrive in a field where interests do not always point in the same direction. You have the ability to listen, build trust and find opportunities, even when there is resistance or concern. With your professional insight and good understanding of people’s different starting points you can bridge between authority requirements, local wishes and the project’s purpose.

We particularly value that you

  • are a strong communicator both verbally and in writing
  • are good at building relationships and trust
  • work in a structured way and maintain an overview in complex processes
  • thrive on dialogue, negotiation and collaboration.

It would also be advantageous if you

  • have experience with project management within nature, water environment or climate
  • have knowledge of rivers, hydrology and the water environment
  • have experience with design, funding schemes and tenders
  • have knowledge of government tasks within nature and the environment, including the Water Framework Directive and the Habitat Regulations.

About o s

You will become part of our project team of 3 people in the river group, which belongs to Environment and Nature in the Center for Technology, Planning and Business. Here you will work with 50 committed colleagues, and here expertise and service to citizens have high priority. In the department we place great emphasis on personal relationships, strong social cohesion and trust in one another. You will join a professionally versatile team where collaboration, well-being and sparring are prioritized highly.

With a positive and humorous work environment and mutual support, we are ready to lend a hand when it becomes challenging. For us, work should be a pleasure.
