Psychology-trained folk high school teacher wanted

Hadsten Folk High School is seeking a psychology-qualified folk high school teacher for a permanent full-time position.

You must be able to teach the following subjects

· Personality psychology

· Social psychology

· Neuropsychology

· In the grip of emotions

· and possibly in the subject Sexual education

You must have strong competences and relevant experience to be able to teach the above subjects. You must also be a good and engaging communicator and have a desire to teach young people.

If you have ideas for new subjects within the school’s areas, we would like to hear about them.

Psychology is a large subject area at Hadsten Folk High School, both in terms of hours and student recruitment. You must be able to make the subjects exciting and relevant for the students, as one perspective among several on the human being and on people’s lives together. The subjects are thus part of the life-enriching purpose for which the folk high school is founded.

In addition to teaching, there is generally folk high school work. This includes, among other things, evening duties, weekend duties, student meetings, participation in study trips, etc. Working hours are therefore varied and include irregular hours.

An important part of the job is the willingness and joy of being around young people. Whether in connection with teaching and other scheduled activities—as in daily interactions at the school in general. You must have the desire and ability to bring yourself personally and professionally into play in these contexts.

Hadsten Folk High School is a general Grundtvigian folk high school with a large and stable student intake. The school offers 70 subjects within seven main subject areas – including Psychology & Philosophy. Students choose themselves which of the 70 subjects they want. Our students are between 18 and 24 years old.

The position is intended to be filled from January 4, 2027 by a person with education in psychology at master’s level.
