Psychologist sought for a newly established treatment program with opportunities for professional influence at Herstedøster School

We are seeking a psychologist for a newly established treatment offer in Albertslund Municipality as of January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The treatment offer is linked to a special class series at Herstedøster School, which works with socio-emotional difficulties at grades 0-7. You will therefore step into a place where a daily routine and expertise already exist, and help shape how the treatment should take place in the offer.

Students referred for treatment will typically have

• need for teaching in a smaller, structured and clear class
• treatment needs that call for milieu-therapeutic, psychological and/or social-pedagogical interventions in the school day
• need for family treatment, where the child's difficulties are understood and worked with in a family context

On January 1 the treatment offer will take effect and we are looking for you who would like to be part of a school daily life and support the children and their families in development and well-being. There will be a broad palette of tasks, which among others will include:

• Treatment courses with children and their families
• Active participation in teaching context (be part of the effort in practice)
• Ongoing supervision, upskilling of and sparring with staff
• Preparation of goal and development plans
• Participation in network meetings
• Observations in teaching

About us

As a psychologist at Herstedøster School you will become part of daily life in a large special class series with about 50 skilled, engaged colleagues distributed among teachers, pedagogues and teaching assistants, as well as all colleagues in our mainstream school. Here there are 104 wonderful pupils spread across 13 classes. 8 classes within the autistic spectrum and 5 classes within the social and emotional domain. The treatment offer is established in the latter classes.

What can you expect

• The position is normed to treatment responsibility for 6 children, which will cross the special class series. It is expected that the treatment places will continuously be filled.
• Great opportunity to shape how treatment is worked with in the offer. Here you will cooperate with management, staff and a psychology professional project supervisor from Albertslund Municipality.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and sparring in daily life
• You will participate in supervision programs as needed. This can occur mono- or interprofessionally. If you are a newly graduated psychologist, there will be the possibility to obtain practical training.
• Possibility to join a mono-professional work community with other colleagues in the municipality.

• want to join a school daily life where treatment takes place side by side with other staff
• focus on the child’s resources
• can establish trust and relationships with students and parents
• are adaptable and do something else when things do not succeed
• can translate your knowledge about the student’s challenges into concrete actions, and are keen to show the way or find it together with the rest of the staff
• have experience with or professional interest in treatment of issues such as anxiety, school refusal, family dynamics and emotional regulation

Salary and terms of employment

• The position is a fixed full-time position. There may be occasional late meetings during the school year.
• Holidays generally follow school holidays
• Salary placement is made after negotiation between the municipality and the negotiating organization
• When employed, a criminal record and child protection checks will be obtained
• It is part of Albertslund Municipality's employment policy to promote diversity and equality

• Albertslund Municipality supports positively the full-time effort in accordance with the Tripartite Agreement on Pay and Working Conditions, and the municipality therefore hires as a 37-hour baseline as default.
