Qualified teacher for maternity leave substitute at Pilegårdsskolen

Are you a qualified teacher with a major in Danish and preferably visual arts, then Pilegårdsskolen has the opportunity to offer you a full-time maternity leave substitute.

If you dream of slightly fewer weekly working hours, we can also find a solution for that.

The substitute position runs from October 13, 2026 and the school year ends, i.e. until July 31, 2027, potentially with the possibility of extension.

The teaching will be in the 3rd year. You will have a half-class teacher role and in addition to Danish you will need to teach science and technology as well as craft and design. The timetable also includes a substantial amount of resource time. If you are trained in visual arts there will be an opportunity to become an elective course teacher for 8th grade.

You will be attached to one team in our primary school.

In the primary school we work in year-group teams with a horizontal team structure from kindergarten to 5th grade, in contrast to the upper school, which works in a vertical team structure from 6th–9th grade.

Pilegårdsskolen is one of 7 public schools in Tårnby Municipality's school system. We have about 85 teachers for 1150 students in grades 0-9. The school is located in a residential area close to Amager Fælled and a short distance to the many open school offerings in both Tårnby and Copenhagen. It has a good reputation, receives strong support from the district's parents and is closely anchored in the local community.

If you are a recent graduate In Tårnby Municipality we offer, in collaboration with DLF, Section 13, an introductory program for newly qualified teachers and kindergarten leaders. This happens in consultation with your leader, a union representative and the health and safety representative.

The first two years as a newly qualified teacher also include reduced teaching load, and at all schools there is a mentor scheme. We take care to give you a good start to your teaching life.

Salary and employment conditions Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with the Danish Teachers’ Union following negotiation.

The municipality's employment policy means that when employed, references are collected from previous and current workplaces. If you have been employed in Tårnby Municipality, there will always be a reference from there. In addition, a criminal record certificate must be presented and a child-related test obtained. Employment will be conditional on these being satisfactory.
