Resident physician in an unclassified position for the intensive 24/7 inpatient ward 2422, North Zealand Psychiatric Center

We are seeking a resident doctor for intensive 24/7 ward 2422 in Hillerød. The position provides an opportunity to gain broad clinical experience within intensive psychiatry in an environment characterized by high professionalism, close supervision and a strong collegial community.

About the position

As a resident at Ward 2422 you will be responsible for your own patients and actively participate in assessment, diagnostic and treatment under close supervision by experienced specialists.

You will become part of a strong multidisciplinary environment with daily sparring, regular teaching and good opportunities for professional development.

In the ward we work targeted with Safewards, advance directives, emergency plans and other interventions that support recovery and help reduce the use of coercion.

About you

We are seeking a physician who has completed the introductory training in psychiatry and wishes to develop their competences further within the specialty.

You are professionally curious, work independently and thrive in a multidisciplinary collaboration where the patient’s needs are in focus. Experience from intensive care wards would be an advantage.

About Ward 2422

Ward 2422 is an intensive 24-hour ward with 14 beds that treats patients with severe mental disorders, including psychoses, severe affective conditions and dual diagnoses.

The ward has for several years worked targeted at reducing coercion and has a continuous focus on learning, patient safety and patient involvement. The staff group is multidisciplinary and includes nurses, social- and health care assistants, social educators, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

We place great emphasis on a good working environment, close collaboration and respect for the different professionalities.

About Psychiatry Center North Zealand

Psychiatric Center North Zealand provides both acute, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment for residents in the northern part of the Capital Region of Denmark.

The center has a 24/7 psychiatric emergency reception in Hillerød, 10 inpatient wards with a total of 152 beds, as well as outpatient clinics and specialized teams distributed across sites in Hillerød, Helsingør and Frederikssund.

We work targeted at coherent patient pathways, recovery-oriented treatment, rational pharmacotherapy and reduction of coercion. At the same time we have an active research environment and good opportunities to engage in research and development.

Salary and employment terms

The position is an unclassified resident physician appointment at 37 hours per week.

Start date is 1 November 2026 or by agreement.

You will be employed under the agreement for junior doctors, including the provisions on working hours.
