About the job
Skanderborg Municipality is growing, and there is strong demand for new local plans and the subsequent road approvals. Therefore we are looking for an authority officer who will help translate visions into reality and create the framework for the future of Denmark's most beautiful municipality.
You will be involved in realizing the City Council's vision ”People meet people – in Denmark's most beautiful municipality”. The vision obliges us to think sustainably and strategically in all our tasks – in close dialogue with developers and residents. The main focus of your tasks will be regulatory processing and approval.
But with us you are not merely a case handler. You will become an active part of developing new housing areas, business areas and urban spaces. You will come close to the entire process from the first sketches to the finished realization and gain a unique insight into the interaction between planning, traffic, nature, environment and construction.
We therefore seek a colleague who is curious about physical planning, thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration and wants to contribute to local plans being translated into reality faster and more smoothly.
Thereafter you will share the responsibility, together with your colleagues in the department, to achieve the road technical approvals.
What the position contains
- Sparring and input in connection with internal hearings regarding local plans, building cases, environmental approvals, etc.
- Regulatory processing, coordination and approval of internal and external road and footpath projects.
- Care of guarantees in connection with road approvals.
- Guidance for developers and residents within the road authority area.
- Sparring with your colleagues about large and small road and footpath projects.
Your professional and personal profile
- You are an engineer or have another relevant education with experience in the road sector – and preferably with regulatory tasks.
- You have good knowledge of the Road Act, the Private Road Act and road regulations in general.
- You are motivated by cross-disciplinary collaboration – both within your field and across the organization with a holistic approach to task solving.
- You have strong collaboration skills and feel comfortable communicating with both residents, businesses and politicians, including being a strong communicator in writing and speech. You must be able to engage in constructive and professional dialogues with developers and residents.
As a person you are
- development-oriented, efficient and solution-focused and have a curious approach to planning
- empathetic and approachable in your dialogue
- independent, but good at seeking help and sparring from your colleagues
- efficient, solution-oriented and takes initiative.

About Skanderborg Municipality
Skanderborg Municipality is an attractive, beautiful and well-located municipality. We are experiencing strong growth and interest in building, living and running businesses in the municipality. We therefore expect to reach around 70,000 inhabitants in the coming years, which means an increasing need for planning of housing, institutions and businesses.
The climate agenda is politically high priority and affects all tasks both directly and indirectly. This can include, for example, large solar parks to be planned for, requirements for ecological and pesticide-free management of the municipality’s areas and much more.
Under the motto “People meet people in Denmark's most beautiful municipality” we meet each other at eye level, with the aim of creating beautiful and well-functioning frameworks for the good life and balanced growth in the municipality’s towns and villages.

As an employer, Skanderborg Municipality is known for a flat structure and a high ceiling on our acoustic comfort. Welcome to natural surplus.
