Are you ready to make a difference for the green transition and strengthen the maritime cooperation between Denmark and China?

Do you want to drive and further develop the Danish-Chinese authorities' cooperation and work for safe and green shipping together with the Danish Maritime Authority? As Sector Advisor you will be the link between the Danish Maritime Authority, other relevant Danish authorities and the Chinese competent authorities.

You will have responsibility for project management, network building and professional activities with local and international partners. The cooperation focuses among other things on international regulation, digitalization of ships, zero-emission ships, alternative fuels and preservation of a high level of safety in a sector with rapid technological development.

You must also contribute to planning and conducting delegation visits, professional seminars and workshops, follow up with local authorities and report to Danish authorities.

You will become part of the embassy's commercial maritime work and must contribute to maintaining and expanding the network among Chinese authorities, business associations, companies as well as research and educational institutions. You should also support the collaboration opportunities for Danish maritime companies in China and cross-collaboration across the embassy's teams and representations in Shanghai and Guangzhou.

Employment terms

As Sector Advisor you are employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, based at the Danish embassy in Beijing and part of the embassy staff. You will have a fixed-term appointment from the date of deployment. The deployment period will be 2-3 years.

Salary and employment terms will be in accordance with the AC agreement in the state. All figures are given in current level, August 2026. You will receive a base salary excluding pension as a senior consultant of 574,099 DKK per year as well as a functional allowance of 33,613 DKK per year and a department allowance of 25,464 DKK per year, corresponding to a total annual salary of 747,591 DKK incl. pension with a pension rate of 18.07%. There will additionally be an opportunity for a possible qualification allowance based on relevant experience and competencies.

During the deployment you will also receive a tax-free a housing allowance, calculated based on your personal circumstances, including your family status. Unfurnished official residence is provided according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rules. In addition, costs for relocation travel, move, health care and schooling or child care are covered according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rules.

It is a condition of employment that you undergo security clearance.
