Herluf Trolle is located in calm and scenic surroundings in Odense – and we are looking for a visionary assistant leader who is passionate about development, professionalism and a strong work environment.

Who are you?

• You are a leader who can help translate political ambitions into concrete, sustainable practice in collaboration with the manager.
• You thrive at the intersection of operations and development and manage to create followership around new professional directions.
• You have a strong professional interest in the dementia field and a desire to contribute to raising the quality at national level – through your work locally.
• As the assistant leader of the nursing home Herluf Trolle, it will be a prioritized task together with the manager to make quality, operations, resident– and staff satisfaction work together within the given economic framework.
• You are passionate about, together with the manager, creating a solid, fundamental foundation for a safe and good environment to live, stay and work in. Rehabilitation, high professionalism and care must be among your most important keywords.
• You want, together with the manager, to lead a nursing home where well-being, cooperation and high quality go hand in hand, where you have the opportunity to shape both everyday life and the nursing home’s development.
• You are good at communicating relevant and timely with both residents and their relatives, who are a great resource supporting the residents’ everyday life.
• You will be attached to a management team and will have a mentor as a supervisor when you start.

You are a co-creator of the framework where people can contribute with their engagement, experiences and perspectives, and you work from a fundamental belief that the best solutions arise in interaction between professionals, volunteers and the local community.

Your main tasks

• Be a visible, experienced and present assistant leader who dares to put themselves at stake and lead with energy, enthusiasm and organizational tact.
• You come with a health professional education, preferably with experience from the nursing home sector. You would also like to have a leadership education or be keen to obtain one.
• As an assistant leader, it is expected that you have financial responsibility and use resources as best as possible within the economic framework.
• Contribute to ensuring that staff have strong competencies in dementia care, communication and person-centered care
• In the management team, ensure operations and cohesion across the house, and focus on the well-being of both residents and staff.
• Navigate in an exciting and varied daily life with complex resident pathways, where daily rehabilitation, relational coordination, effect and collaboration are in focus.
• Provide professional leadership and be close to practice as well as create a reflective practice with opportunities for learning for all professional groups.
• Ensure collaboration with relatives as an important and natural part of the job.
• Lead with an appreciative and motivating communication, both in good and challenging conversations.
• Work systematically with resident conferences and triage as a method in your work to create well-being for the residents and to strengthen professional reflection among staff.

Your framework at Herluf Trolle

The common goal for the leadership team is to continuously trim, adapt and develop the organization so as to create as much joy of life and coherence for residents and their relatives, far into the future. You should work to ensure that the residents’ needs and dreams are the focus of daily work.

We are a nursing home with space for 47 residents. You will, together with your manager, form the leadership team for about 45 staff members, where all professional disciplines work closely around the residents. The staff group consists of Social and Health Helpers, Social and Health Assistants and house assistants, and a close collaboration with the house doctor, activity workers and the nursing team from Korsløkkehaven Nursing Home.

We are a training site for SOSU students, where we continuously work to ensure good programs.

At Herluf Trolle we are privileged to have highly engaged relatives and collaborations with voluntary communities such as the Elderly Association, reading groups and cycling volunteers. It is your and the manager’s task to invite volunteers to be a natural part of the house for the benefit and joy of the residents. As the assistant, you are also a culture carrier for our ambition to open the nursing home toward civil society and voluntary communities.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between KL and the bargaining organization.

Start date January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible.

The practical

The application deadline is Thursday, November 12, 2026.

We expect to hold 1st interview on Thursday, November 19 and 2nd interview on Wednesday, November 25.

For the 2nd interview you will be asked to prepare a personality profile and work with a case prior to the interview.
