About the job

Center for Documentation and Intervention Against Extremism (CDE) in the Danish Immigration Service is seeking a skilled and engaged administrative officer or consultant for the Unit for Prevention and Advisory Services. With us you have the opportunity to translate knowledge into concrete prevention and help municipalities and local authorities handle new and complex challenges.

Welcome to CDE

CDE is a national knowledge and advisory center that works with documentation, prevention and combating extremism. We are part of the Danish Immigration Service and organized in three units: Land Documentation, Information Gathering & Analysis, and Prevention and Advisory Services.

You will become part of the Prevention and Advisory Services unit, where we support municipalities, police and other local actors in preventing extremism. We bridge knowledge and practice through advisory services, competence development and cross-sector collaboration across authorities and professional areas.

About the position

The extremism sector is undergoing change. Among other things, violent, glorifying digital communities and complex concerns for children and youths challenge local authorities' prevention work. It places new demands on advisory services, collaboration and the development of interventions.

You will play a central role in advising and helping local authorities translate knowledge about extremism into relevant actions for local prevention. It requires a good sense of local reality and the ability to support changes in organizations where multiple professional disciplines and authorities must find solutions together.

Your tasks will among other things include

  • Advise municipalities, local authorities and information centers on organizing, emergency preparedness and handling complex prevention tasks, where concerns about extremism are in focus
  • Support development and anchoring of local initiatives across professional areas and authorities.
  • Plan and conduct advisory processes, courses and workshops based on local needs.
  • Drive and coordinate projects that translate new knowledge into concrete methods and solutions.
  • Build and maintain collaborations with authorities, educational institutions and civil society.

The position involves travel activity in Denmark and close contact with local partners.

We are looking for you who can create momentum together with others

You have experience with advisory work, development work or cross-sector collaboration – preferably from a government agency, municipality, police or another public authority. You understand the frameworks within which local professionals and leaders work, and can help them find solutions that work in practice.

We place particular emphasis on you having experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Advising municipalities or other local authorities.
  • Project management and coordination of tasks with multiple actors.
  • Change management, implementation or development of workflows and forms of collaboration.
  • Preventive work with children and adolescents, vulnerability or complex social issues.
  • Teaching, facilitating and communicating to different professional groups.
  • Familiarity with extremism prevention is an advantage, but you can also bring strong competencies from a related field and be eager to build specialized knowledge with us.
  • You have a relevant academic education or another relevant educational and experiential background, for example from a municipality or police.

As a colleague you are

  • Committed to succeeding as a team and contributing to the shared effort. You share knowledge, bring your and colleagues' competencies into play and take co-responsibility for both tasks and the good collaboration.
  • Good at building trust, listening and collaborating across professional disciplines.
  • Analytical and able to translate complex knowledge into clear advisory and concrete actionable options.
  • Independent and organized with a view to both progress and quality.
  • Curious about new challenges and motivated to develop solutions together with others.
  • Committed to contributing to a good working environment with professional sparring and helpfulness.
