About the job

Do you want to take responsibility for one of Denmark's most advanced technical environments?

We are seeking a technically strong and independent Senior Lab Engineer who will have a central role in the operation and development of critical laboratory infrastructure at a global high-tech company. This is not a traditional operations role.

As Senior Lab Engineer, you will be the primary technical sparring partner for researchers, specialists and external partners and will be responsible for ensuring that the laboratory's critical systems run stably, safely and efficiently. The Senior Lab Engineer role combines technical specialist knowledge with project management, stakeholder management and strategic facility management.

You will have overall responsibility for the operation, maintenance and ongoing optimization of complex building- and laboratory-related systems (M&E, electrical, control/automation, heating, ventilation and cooling).

Your tasks

  • Ensure stable and safe operation of critical installations as well as compliance with occupational safety, security and relevant standards
  • Analyze operational data and technical issues to optimize capacity, energy efficiency, reliability and uptime
  • Drive troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and coordination during operational disruptions - including urgent repair and emergency maintenance
  • Lead and further develop preventive maintenance so that equipment and systems meet or exceed expected lifetime
  • Handle work orders, estimate resource and material needs and ensure adequate stock of tools and consumables
  • Manage suppliers and contractors and follow up on agreements (SOW), SLAs, KPIs, quality and deliveries
  • Monitor and inspect external work and handle inquiries from users and other stakeholders
  • Review and approve inspections of central building systems (e.g., fire alarm, HVAC, automation and M&E)
  • Have budget responsibility for Maintenance & Repairs, ensure cost control and contribute to OPEX/CAPEX forecasting
  • Prepare budgets, business cases and decision papers for investments and technical upgrades
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on new installations, laboratory expansions and changes to existing facilities
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly and translate it into evidence-based recommendations
  • Contribute to improvement of methods, processes and standards as well as knowledge sharing/coaching across

Your profile

  • Is educated as a marine engineer, engineer or has equivalent technical education (mechanics, electrical or installation/building)
  • Has experience from a critical operations environment (e.g., data centers, pharma, biotech, production or laboratories)
  • Has a strong understanding of HVAC, cooling, electricity, utility plants and building automation
  • Is used to supplier management, budget responsibility and technical projects - and to working in a structured way with SLA/KPI follow-up
  • Can translate complex issues into practical, durable solutions and thrives with independent responsibility
  • Communicates professionally in both Danish and English (written and spoken)
  • It is an advantage if you have certifications in e.g. HVAC, electrical, mechanical, cooling/refrigeration or process control/automation.
  • You are analytical, proactive and curious - and you build trust with both technicians, management and highly specialized users through professional depth and a pragmatic approach.

Furthermore we would like you to be analytical, proactive and curious. You naturally take ownership of your areas of responsibility and are willing to challenge existing solutions when a better path exists.

At the same time you manage to build trust with both technicians, management and highly specialized users because you combine professional depth with a pragmatic approach to tasks.

Our offer

  • A key position in one of Denmark’s most advanced technical environments
  • High degree of independence and responsibility
  • Close collaboration with international specialists and researchers
  • Opportunity to influence both operations, development and strategy
  • An international organization with high professional standards and strong development opportunities
  • Salary according to qualifications
  • Permanent employment
