About the job

The Prosecution Authority of the North Zealand Police seeks one or more senior or special prosecutors for the Advocatures for Special and General Cases.

The positions are suitable for you, whether you come directly after training or have several years of experience as a senior or special prosecutor in the prosecution service.

The positions are to be filled as soon as possible.

About the position

The positions as senior prosecutors are generalist roles and are characterized by including a broad range of different tasks and areas of responsibility, which in line with experience will increase in complexity and responsibility.

As a senior prosecutor in the North Zealand Police you will therefore handle cases, file indictments, and appear in court with criminal cases across the agency's case categories.

If you have a particular specialization within a relevant field, there will be an opportunity for appointment as a special prosecutor. As a special prosecutor you will – in addition to your potential specialization – handle other types of criminal cases.

Depending on your competences and preferences, there will also be, for a period, an opportunity to join the circuit’s mentor team, where your main task will be – together with several experienced senior and special prosecutors – to help new colleagues get started with the prosecutor’s work.

You

You are a trained jurist (cand.jur.). The positions will primarily be relevant for lawyers who have completed the prosecution service’s basic training and rotation program. If you have gained comparable competencies through other relevant work experience to independently handle the responsibilities and processing of the prosecution service’s criminal cases, you are also welcome to apply.

In addition, we imagine that you

  • Have solid experience in handling criminal cases
  • have a high professional level and the ability to translate independent professional knowledge into good results
  • are eager and able to teach others
  • have impact and communicate clearly in writing and speech

Us

The Prosecution Authority of the North Zealand Police consists of about 110 employees, of which about 60 are lawyers. The Prosecution Authority is located at the police station in Helsingør, and the prosecutors appear in the district courts in Lyngby, Hillerød and Helsingør.

We are organized into three advocatures, a detainee team and an advocate secretariat. We work together across the entire prosecution authority without sharp interfaces with a common Front Office.

We are broadly composed of both younger and more experienced employees with legal, administrative and police professional backgrounds. Our values are high professionalism, unity and engagement, and our daily life is characterized by a fast pace where we – very importantly – help each other and strive to ensure that we all have roughly the same amount to do.

Salary and employment conditions

If you are a senior prosecutor who has recently completed the rotation, you will as a rule be placed in terms of salary as a trainee with a standby allowance according to the state academic salary agreement. If you have completed the prosecution service’s basic training, you will be rewarded with an allowance applicable in the Ministry of Justice’s area according to the Academic Agreement’s annex concerning an overview of allowances and special provisions (basic training allowance).

If you have a minimum of five years of seniority, have completed a rotation and in total have had three different jobs or functions, you will also be rewarded with an allowance under the same annex (after rotation allowance). Placement and any other allowances are negotiated through the union representative. You will in addition be part of the circuit’s on-call schedule.

If you are a senior or special prosecutor with more experience, you will be salary-placed as a Special Consultant under the Academic Agreement’s annex on the protocol for special consultants and chief consultants on the new pay system, unless you are already a civil servant. Placement and any other allowances are negotiated individually. You will also be part of the prosecution authority’s on-call schedule.

Given the position’s weight, the placement for candidates with a high level of experience and competence may only be in the base salary range for chief consultants, as shown in the above annex. Placement and any other allowances are negotiated individually.

If you are already employed as a civil servant in the employment area, you may retain your civil servant employment. The position is classified in salary frame 36 with the associated fixed allowances. In addition, any individual allowances can be agreed depending on relevant experience and qualifications.

The job’s employment area is the Ministry of Justice with its associated institutions. If you are already employed in the Ministry of Justice’s employment area, a transfer to the position would be a reorganization within the area.

You must be able to obtain a security clearance for the position’s necessary security level – normally to the classification level Highly Classified. You may be required to perform duties where security clearance to a higher classification level is necessary. Employment in the police and prosecution service is conditional on you being able at all times to maintain the necessary security clearance.

Your place of work will be the Helsingør Police Station, Prøvestensvej 1 in Helsingør.
