About the job

We are seeking a chief physician for Ward S1, which is a specialized open ward for patients aged over 35 years, primarily with psychotic disorders.

About the job

As a chief physician, you will have an important leadership role for the professional tasks that the ward undertakes. You will solve this task in close collaboration with the treatment team, the leading head nurse, KAK and the UUU-nurse, where together you focus on coordinating day-to-day operations, collaboration and the working environment. As a chief physician on S1 you will become part of a strong cross-psychosis collaboration. You will work closely with the leading chief physicians, Ward S2, the intensive care wards as well as the outpatient units to ensure cohesive and well-functioning patient pathways.

S1 primarily receives patients over 35 years of age, and the ward therefore also plays an important role in the transition for patients from the OPUS (Outpatient Clinic for Young People with Psychoses) when there is a need for admission to an open ward.

The Department of General Psychiatry has a clear ambition to strengthen research and the educational environment within psychotic disorders, which you are also expected to actively participate in. We also place high value on education and regularly have students, resident physicians in training and other learners from several professional groups, contributing to a dynamic and learning-oriented working environment.

You are expected to participate in activities and teaching, particularly in addressing this task for medical students and doctors. Finally, you will naturally have an important role in anchoring the ward’s collaboration with the other wards.

About you

It is a prerequisite that you are a specialist in psychiatry, here with a strong professional profile, and that you wish to work in an exciting position with both clinical and educational activities as well as possibly research. That you thrive in a multidisciplinary work environment with many colleagues and partners, have good communication skills and are able to structure your day in connection with the development activities – and you are of course an active team player in a changing everyday life.

We expect that you have

  • Danish authorization as a specialist in psychiatry
  • Good collaborative skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and provide professional sparring
  • Ability to achieve results based on shared direction and coordination.

Clinical experiences and competencies within the psychosis field will be an advantage.

We offer

The Department of General Psychiatry, Aalborg is a large department with many colleagues, and we invite you into a strong multidisciplinary community, with a strong focus on ensuring a good working environment.

We work according to the region’s I-TOP values, and we place great emphasis on ensuring that in our work we see and meet patients where they are, by putting their needs first and doing what works for the patient. In the Patient’s Team we work to ensure cross-sector collaboration in the integrated patient pathways together with the patient and relatives.
