As our new Senior Strategy & M&A Manager, you will be at the centre of that journey. Working closely with the CRH Denmark leadership team, our businesses and Strategy & Development colleagues across CRH International, you will help shape our long-term direction, drive key strategic analyses and M&A work, and identify the growth opportunities that can define what CRH Denmark becomes next.

The role As Senior Strategy & M&A Manager, you will take on a broad role spanning long-term strategy, M&A and Business Development. You will lead complex strategic analyses and workstreams, develop recommendations for senior decision-makers and take significant responsibility for moving strategic opportunities from an initial question or idea to a well-founded decision.

The role combines independent ownership of complex work with close collaboration across CRH Denmark. It gives you the opportunity to work across businesses, markets and different parts of the value chain.

Your key responsibilities will include

Shape our long-term strategy: Help drive the development of CRH Denmark’s long-term 3-to-5-year strategy. You will analyse markets, competitive dynamics, portfolio choices and growth opportunities and translate your insights into clear strategic choices, priorities and recommendations for the leadership team.

• Drive M&A: Take significant responsibility across acquisitions and divestments, from opportunity screening and strategic assessment through business cases, valuation and due diligence to decision-making, transaction support and integration planning. You will lead relevant workstreams and coordinate contributions from internal teams and external advisers.
• Develop new growth opportunities: Identify and assess opportunities beyond traditional M&A, including strategic investments, partnerships, joint ventures and new
• business models. You will combine strategic, commercial and financial perspectives to determine where new opportunities could create value for CRH Denmark.
• Act as a strategic partner: Work closely with the CRH Denmark leadership team and selected businesses as a trusted strategic sparring partner. You will build a deep understanding of their markets, value chains and competitive positions, challenge existing perspectives and proactively bring new strategic questions and opportunities to the table.
• Turn strategy into action: Translate strategic choices and recommendations into clearly defined initiatives with a compelling business case, scope, ambition and high-level plan. You will help mobilise initiatives and remain involved as a strategic partner, while implementation is led by the relevant business or Transformation teams.

Who are you? You are a highly analytical and commercially minded professional who enjoys solving complex business problems and turning analysis into clear recommendations. You are comfortable taking ownership of your work, engaging with senior stakeholders and challenging established perspectives when the facts point in a different direction.

You combine intellectual curiosity with a pragmatic mindset. You care about the quality of your analysis, but ultimately want your work to lead to better decisions and tangible business outcomes.

We imagine that you

• Have 4–6 years of relevant experience from management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development/M&A, investment banking, transaction services or a similar environment.
• Hold a relevant Master’s degree, for example within finance, economics, business or a related field.
• Bring strong analytical, financial and commercial capabilities, including experience with financial modelling, valuation, business cases and the assessment of markets, value chains and business models.
• Are an advanced user of Excel and PowerPoint, comfortable working with complex data and able to translate your analysis into clear and compelling communication for senior decision-makers.
• Work with a high degree of independence and drive, build strong relationships across an organisation and are confident acting as both a collaborative partner and a constructive challenger.
• Are professionally fluent in English and Danish, both written and spoken.

How will you succeed? In your first months, success will be about building a strong understanding of CRH Denmark, our businesses and markets, establishing trusted relationships across the organisation and quickly becoming able to take ownership of complex strategic and M&A work.

Over time, you will become a trusted strategic partner to the CRH Denmark leadership team and selected businesses. You will be known for combining rigorous analysis with sound commercial judgement, bringing new perspectives and opportunities to the table, and translating complex questions into clear recommendations and actionable strategic initiatives.

Ultimately, you will succeed by helping CRH Denmark make better strategic choices, identify and pursue the right growth opportunities, and continuously strengthen the long-term direction of the business.

The team You will join Strategy & Transformation, a growing team with a broad mandate to support the development and performance of CRH Denmark. The team works across strategy, M&A and Business Development, PMO, post-merger integration and transformation, as well as operational and commercial performance improvement.

We work closely with the CRH Denmark leadership team and our businesses on some of the most important opportunities and challenges shaping the company. As we continue to build the team and its capabilities, you will have a genuine opportunity to influence how we work, collaborate across disciplines and help shape the Strategy & Transformation function.
