About the job

Do you want to create intuitive user experiences and bring our digital products closer together in one of the Nordics' leading software companies in the water and environment sector?

Do you want to join the team? At Envidan Software we develop digital solutions that help organizations operate, maintain and document critical infrastructure within utility areas and technical facilities. We work every day to make complex workflows simpler, more efficient and more intuitive. At the same time we build products and user experiences that can be scaled and reused across customers and markets throughout the Nordics.

Our UX/UI designer is going on maternity leave, and therefore we are seeking a senior UX/UI designer for a maternity-leave assignment with the possibility of subsequent permanent employment.

Take responsibility for UX across our products

An important part of the role will be to create the structures, principles and design components that make our product development faster and more efficient. You will help Product Owners translate ideas and needs into clear user flows and meaningful first versions that can be deployed and built upon over time.

Together with the developers you ensure that our design library is closely aligned with the components that are implemented in the products. It should make it easier to reuse solutions, create a more consistent user experience, and reduce the time from idea to functionality in operation.

You drive the design work forward independently and involve customers, users and colleagues along the way. You collect insights, present solutions and continuously use feedback to qualify and improve the solutions.

Your key tasks will be

  • Translate user needs, professional requirements and complex workflows into intuitive UX flows and concrete UI designs.
  • Help Product Owners define solutions into meaningful first versions and clarify how they can be expanded over time.
  • Drive dialogue with customers and users through interviews, workshops and usability testing to gain insight into their needs and ongoing feedback.
  • Sketch and build prototypes, present solution proposals and translate input into concrete improvements.
  • Drive the development of our design system with reusable components, patterns and common design principles – and ensure alignment between the design library and developers' components.
  • Collaborate closely with the developers on interactions and technical possibilities and follow the solutions through to implementation.
  • Create coherence across our products and improve existing solutions based on user insights and feedback.

You have the experience to set direction – and get the details right

You have solid experience in driving UX/UI work from needs to usage and have an eye for both the overall user journey and the details. You balance user needs, product goals and technical constraints and know when more investigation is needed and when a decision should be made.

You are motivated by dialogue with customers and users. You are curious about their daily lives, ask good questions and make your design proposals understandable so that everyone can contribute.

You make design choices understandable for the team and create shared ownership of the solutions. At the same time you contribute with professional energy and enthusiasm that make it motivating to develop good products together.

We especially value that you

  • Take independent responsibility for UX/UI work, set direction and drive tasks forward.
  • Create understanding and support for design choices and contribute with professional engagement and energy in development teams.
  • Have several years of experience with UX/UI design of software products.
  • Have a solid professional UX foundation and work confidently with user research, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping and usability testing.
  • Have practical experience building and evolving design systems in close collaboration with developers.
  • Have solid experience with digital design tools, components and prototypes. We use Figma, but your experience may be from similar tools.
  • Have experience with agile product teams and breaking larger solutions into smaller, cohesive iterations.
  • Are a strong communicator who can present and justify design choices and create good dialogue with customers, users and colleagues.

You do not need to know the water industry beforehand. The most important thing is that you are curious about users' everyday lives and can translate your understanding into usable solutions.

Professional growth, job satisfaction and good colleagues

At Envidan Software you will become part of a professionally strong community where product and development work closely together. You will have the opportunity to influence our products and design practices and develop professionally and personally through responsibility, cross-disciplinary collaboration and sparring with skilled colleagues.

We value job satisfaction and an informal tone. We help each other, celebrate our collective progress and prioritize both humor in everyday life and social activities.

Your work will be part of the digitalization of the water industry and help our customers gain better overview, use their resources efficiently, and make decisions on a better basis.

Practical information and application

The position is a full-time maternity-leave cover from March 2027 to October 2027 with the possibility of subsequent permanent employment. The period includes overlap before and after the maternity leave to ensure a thorough handover of tasks and knowledge.

Your workplace is our office in Silkeborg. We offer flexibility in daily work and expect you to be in the office three days a week to ensure close collaboration and professional sparring.

If you have questions, you are welcome to contact Iben Munk Bjerg at [email protected].

Send your application, your CV and preferably a portfolio with examples of relevant projects.

We treat applications confidentially and on an ongoing basis and close the posting when we have found the right candidate.
