Service Assistant for Hospice Djursland and Strandbakkehuset Children's and Youth Hospice

Are you service-minded and flexible, and do you want to help ensure that Hospice Djursland and Strandbakkehuset remain a well-kept and inviting house for the benefit of terminally ill patients and their relatives, then this position is for you. We are seeking a service assistant for 16-18 hours per week from 1 January 2026 or earlier.

At both hospices we work from the hospice philosophy, which, among other things, means that we organize our everyday life according to the patient's wishes and needs. The hospice philosophy is based on the idea of obtaining the necessary help to be able to live fully and completely until the last. As a service assistant you also come close to patients and relatives.

We are looking for a colleague who, together with the other two service assistants, can handle the daily cleaning as well as special and main cleaning at Hospice Djursland and Strandbakkehuset. A responsible colleague who is able to work independently.

Desired qualifications

• Experience in the service industry
• You can identify needs for service, cleaning, etc., and take independent responsibility for solutions
• You are creative and flexible in daily task solving
• You are patient and a good listener
• You are able to build good relationships through curiosity and good communication
• Since we are a smaller house, there is a need for you to be both stable and flexible in work time planning

Working hours

The work is primarily during the day, distributed over 3 weekdays. You have weekends off, though there may be work on certain holidays, which are distributed within the service group.

A shared hospice

Hospice Djursland and Strandbakkehuset Child and Youth Hospice function as one shared hospice with common functions. We are a house where we help each other across professions, keeping focus on daily success in ensuring our shared core task. We are employed in different work communities, and you will join the kitchen and service, where you report to the head of department for kitchen and service.

Hospice Djursland has space for 15 patients, and Strandbakkehuset has space for 4 families. In both houses our purpose is to provide an interdisciplinary and specialized palliation for inpatients adults, children or youth, as well as their relatives. Our patients are admitted to hospice for the end of life or for a palliative admission, where they are discharged again.
