About the job

Do you have a good grip on things, enjoy a varied workday, and are you motivated by helping others? Then you might be our new service technician.

The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts seeks a service technician for our operations team. You will be part of a team consisting of an operations manager, four operations technicians, an operations technician assistant, and an internal roaming team.

The Academy of Fine Arts provides daily a framework for teaching, artistic work and a wide range of activities. This places special demands on our buildings, rooms and facilities – and on daily service. As a service technician you will play an important role in ensuring that staff and students get the help they need, and that teaching, meetings and events can be carried out in well-functioning and prepared spaces.

About the job

As a service technician you will have a varied daily life where service, maintenance and practical operational tasks are a central part of the job. You will have close contact with staff, students, teachers and other users of the academy. It is therefore important that you enjoy helping others, finding practical solutions and delivering a welcoming and professional service.

Your tasks will include, among other things

  • craftsman-like and practical tasks related to maintenance and operation of buildings, rooms, equipment, furniture and facilities
  • minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including for example painting work as well as smaller plumbing and electrical tasks within current rules and your own competences
  • clearing, setting up and adapting rooms for teaching, meetings, exhibitions and events
  • practical assistance before, during and after events
  • service and help to staff, students, teachers and other users
  • handling of fault reports and ongoing service inquiries
  • daily surveillance, patrolling and control of buildings, rooms, installations and common areas
  • cleanup, waste management and preparation of work areas and common areas
  • contact with and follow-up on external tradespeople and suppliers
  • other practical service and operational tasks that naturally belong to daily operation

You will solve tasks both independently and in close cooperation with your colleagues in the operations team as well as external tradespeople and suppliers. The workday can change along the way, and it is therefore important that you thrive with both planned tasks and situations that need to be solved here and now. You must be able to prioritise your tasks and keep overview, even when several users need help at the same time.

Working hours and flexibility

The position is, as a rule, arranged within normal daytime hours. However, as needed, work may take place at other times, including evening and weekend shifts, for example in connection with holidays, illness, events or other staffing necessities.

You must therefore be prepared that working hours, under applicable rules, collective agreements and with the necessary notices, may change, and that you may sometimes act as a replacement for your colleagues on evening or weekend shifts. Working hours are planned as far in advance as possible and with due regard to operations and employees’ conditions.

Who are you?

Your specific educational background is not decisive. We imagine that you have experience from a service trade, technical service, property management, crafts or similar. The most important thing is that you want to work with people, service, buildings and practical tasks.

We emphasize that you

  • are service-minded and meet staff and students positively, helpfully and professionally
  • have good collaboration skills and thrive with many different contact surfaces
  • have good practical and technical understanding
  • have experience with or interest in maintenance and service of buildings
  • have a sense of order and can take responsibility for cleaning up and preparing
  • take responsibility and follow your tasks through to the end
  • can work both independently and as part of a team
  • are flexible and prepared for, if needed, that working hours can be arranged at different times
  • can keep an overview when today's plans change
  • are eager to learn new things and develop your competencies
  • contribute to good collaboration and a good everyday life in the operations team

It is an advantage if you have experience with building management, technical service or maintenance, but we also welcome applicants with another relevant service- or craft-based background and the right practical and approachable attitude.

We offer

You will become part of a well-functioning operations team with different professional backgrounds and a workplace where no two days are necessarily the same.

The position offers możliwość to work with many different types of service, maintenance and operations tasks. There are good opportunities to continuously develop your competencies and assume greater responsibility within the areas that interest you.

You also get a workplace in some very special surroundings, where art, education, history and modern building operation meet. Your efforts help create good and well-functioning frameworks for the academy’s staff, students and other users.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is 37 hours per week and paid according to the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant organisation. The position is desired to be filled as soon as possible.

Salary and terms of employment will follow the applicable collective agreement, and placement depends on your experience and qualifications.

The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts wishes to reflect the diversity of the surrounding society and therefore encourages all qualified applicants regardless of age, gender, race, religion or ethnic origin to apply for the position.

How to apply

We look forward to receiving your application with CV and any other relevant attachments via the button “apply for the position” no later than Monday 19 October 2026.
