We are currently seeking a motivated and curious catering apprentice who wants to develop their professional skills in cooking, service and sustainable operations.

About the job

As a catering apprentice with us you will become part of a dedicated kitchen team, where teamwork, quality and the joy of good food go hand in hand. We prepare most of our food from scratch with a focus on healthy meals, good ingredients and as little food waste as possible. You will receive a versatile training program and the opportunity to develop your skills in both hot and cold dishes, plating and the daily operation of the kitchen.

The Vocational College - your new apprenticeship

The Vocational College in Odense is a modern residential facility for students at Syddansk Erhvervsskole. Here young people aged 16 to 22 live in an active environment with good opportunities for community, leisure activities and well-being.

Your responsibilities

• Preparation of breakfast, lunch and meeting catering
• Preparation and plating of cold and hot dishes
• Assist with menu planning and production
• Ensure high quality and good hygiene
• Ordering, receiving and handling of goods
• Contribute to a good service experience for our guests
• Work with sustainability and minimization of food waste

We expect you to

• Have completed the basic course in gastronomy or catering at the start
• Have an interest in food, ingredients and guest service
• Be reliable, responsible and good at collaborating in a team
• Be curious to learn new things and develop professionally
• Contribute with a good mood and positive energy
• Be proficient in Danish in writing and speaking

It will also be possible to enter into employment under Ny Mesterlære.

Employment

The apprentice position is 37 hours with pay and terms in accordance with the current collective agreement with 3F, good pension and staff meals as well as work clothes.

You will primarily handle morning shifts with start times from 6:00 – 14:00 and an evening shift every 3 weeks from 11-19 Monday to Thursday. Fridays are 7-12.

Start date 1 January 2027 - or as soon as possible depending on your training program.

The employment follows your training agreement and ends without further notice when you are qualified.

The workplace is the Vocational College, Odense - Studievej 50, Odense SØ.
