Forestry worker for the southwest of Zealand and Falster, Nature Agency Storstrøm

Responsibilities and organization

The core tasks of the Nature Agency are to ensure Danes have good nature experiences as well as create greater biodiversity in the government-owned nature areas.

We are seeking by January 1, 2027 a new forest worker, whose primary work area will be the southwest of Zealand and Falster with competences and interests in the management of the unit's unique nature and public areas.

You will take on a very broad range of maintenance and craft tasks in connection with the operation of our nature areas and the maintenance of our outdoor recreation facilities including welcome areas, trails and roads.

Therefore you have a practical approach to the tasks, and you can work in a structured, independent and conscientious way – but you must also be able to collaborate with colleagues and external tradespeople, other authorities and interest organizations.

Since we only have a small number of forest workers in the unit, you will work closely with your colleagues – so even though you are each responsible for your own supervision area, you will still help each other and solve many tasks together.

You will primarily be responsible for the following tasks

• Operation of public areas with emptying of waste bins, mowing of paths and squares.
• Ongoing operation and maintenance of cars, tractors and small machines, so technical savvy is an advantage.
• Supervision and care of historic monuments.
• Practical operating tasks on our nature areas with brush cutter, chainsaw and ATV.
• Nature care in Holmegård Mose, including cooperation with lessees and partners.

Your profile

You are trained and preferably have experience with practical nature management and the operation of public areas and facilities. You could, for example, be educated as a forest and nature technician with a specialization in forest and nature management, but this is not a requirement.

It is an advantage if you

• Have practical experience with nature management and the operation and maintenance of outdoor facilities.
• Can handle a chainsaw, brush cutter and tractor as well as small machines. It can be experience with these and/or training in the machinery.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, and accustomed to using IT equipment at a user level.

We need someone who

• Is efficient and structured in planning your workday, and you should enjoy working independently.
• Can collaborate with your colleagues to solve tasks, be curious and have the desire to both learn from others and share your experiences with others.
• Is generally in good physical shape and can undertake varying physically demanding tasks in all weather.

Salary and employment conditions

Your salary and employment terms are as a forest and nature technician in accordance with the then applicable organizational agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Trade Union Federation (3F) for gardeners, animal caretakers, forest and nature technicians, etc. A local agreement on working hours has been made for employees of the Nature Agency who are covered by the organizational agreement for gardeners, animal caretakers, forest and nature technicians, etc. between 3F and the Agency for Employees and Competence.

The average weekly working hours are 37 hours.

It is a requirement that you at minimum hold a category B driving license for a car and preferably a trailer license. In addition, it is an advantage if you can drive a tractor and other small machines. A company car will be provided.

The employing area is the Nature Agency Storstrøm, which covers a larger geographic area.

The daily meeting place may be Hannenovvej 29, 4800 Nykøbing or Bakkelygård, Slagelse Landevej 132, 4241 Vemmelev, depending on your residence.
