Social and Health Care Assistant - gain experience in acute psychiatry

Would you like to become a night shift worker with us and have a working life where the shifts are never the same?

In the Psychiatric Emergency Department (PAM) in Slagelse, we have a ward where colleagues support each other and have high ambitions to continually improve our work.

We are looking for a social and health care assistant for 32-37 hours per week. You will have a varied job with opportunities to continuously develop your professional competencies.

We are a department of 35 staff, with several teams attached. Our office is characterized by cross-disciplinary collaboration in the corners. In the corridor you will meet a diversity of patients and smiles from colleagues.

You will have a mentor who, together with you and management, will tailor your introductory program according to your experience and competences.

You will work both in our emergency department function and with our admitted patients. Our target group is patients over 18 years with crisis or acute deterioration of their mental state. Our average length of stay is 1.5 days. Patients in PAM are usually voluntarily admitted. You will become part of our overall safety in the psychiatric house, through collaboration and cross-departmental alarm runs.

You will become part of Psychiatry West under Mid and West Zealand Hospital

An organization in development with approximately 520 employees. In the West there are main functions for adults over 17 years within emergency reception, inpatient, and outpatient functions. Psychiatry West also has special functions within treatment of affective disorders, traumatized refugees, PTSD and oligophrenia. We have a Fusion Clinic/Steno diabetes-psychiatry unit and work particularly closely with Holbæk and Slagelse hospitals.

Psychiatry West has its own research unit with a professor in clinical pharmacology and several PhD students. In addition, we participate in many projects aimed at ensuring closer collaboration with our municipalities and police. We work purposefully to reduce the use of coercion, and collaboration with somatic care is also important. Our aim is a psychiatry focused on recovery, inclusion of patients and networks, high professional standards, ethics and education.

In addition, we aim to create the best possible learning environments for our various training programs for doctors, nurses, social and health care assistants, etc., and to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for patients and staff.

Salary and employment terms

Starting salary for employees under collective agreement

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told base salary, centrally set allowances and pension under the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
