About the job

Are you about to finish as a social- and health care assistant, or do you have a few years under your belt and need a change, then maybe you are the one we are looking for.

We are seeking 2 social- and health care assistants for a 37-hour position with rotating shifts (day and evening)

We are looking for a new colleague. If you would like, together with us, to make a difference for our residents. So come and become part of our dedicated care team. You will of course undergo thorough training in close collaboration with your new colleagues.

Our white house at Plejecenter Snorrebakken is specially aimed at people with dementia, intellectual disabilities and psychiatric disorders.

The white house comprises 20 homes. We work together with residents and relatives to create an environment around our residents that is based on dignity, presence and respect.

We use Tom Kitwood's person-centered theories as the foundation for our approach to our residents. We focus on limiting the amount of medication and using pedagogical approaches to give residents a good life in their own home in the white house. We want residents to experience a meaningful life with activities that are individually tailored to each person.

You will be assigned as a regular point of contact for your own residents. In general we strive for continuity and recognizability, also when using substitutes and relief staff, and therefore we have a very small flow of new people in the house.

We are currently involved in an exciting project with the implementation of measures based on the new Elderly Act. You will therefore from the start be part of and involved in this exciting change process.

With us, it is important to point out that we

  • Mean something to each other, and highly value good collegiality. See, acknowledge and “lift each other up” every day, and thereby
  • Work actively together for a good psychosocial work environment.
  • Each of us takes great responsibility to contribute to solving the residents' core tasks, with active participation and professionally reasoned division of labor.
  • Work together to develop and maintain a high quality and professionalism in our daily work.
  • Focus on what we can achieve together.
  • Work based on transparency and openness in our tasks.
  • Place high importance on working for a good and close collaboration with residents and their relatives.
  • Support residents to stay as long as possible in their own lives.

Our expectations of you are that you

  • Have a positive approach to working with our residents.
  • Are patient and tolerant in your approach to your tasks.
  • Value honesty and openness highly.
  • See and acknowledge residents, relatives, colleagues and partners.
  • Enjoy development and are not afraid of changes for the benefit of the residents and the core task.
  • Can work independently and apply your professional knowledge.
  • Work purposefully together with your colleagues regarding development and maintenance of high quality and professionalism in relation to the core task.
  • Are reliable, and can act in a busy daily life with good humor.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and based on the principles of local pay setting.

A criminal record check will be obtained upon employment.

The position is 37 hours per week.

At brk.dk you can read more about the municipality, which with 3,600 employees is the island's undoubtedly largest workplace.

BRK is a smoke-free workplace.

We help you settle in

It is a big decision to move to the 'sunshine island' – therefore you are not alone with it. We have a settlement consultant who helps with housing, a job for your spouse and school or leisure opportunities for the family’s youngest. Read more here .
