Social- and Health Care Helper for fixed night shift, 28 hours – Elderly Center Sydvestvej, Glostrup Municipality

When the house has quieted down and most are asleep, it is the night shift that takes care. It is you who sits with a resident who can't fall asleep, helps another to the toilet, and ensures that everyone can wake up safely to a new day. On the 1st-2nd floor we know how much a good night shift matters, and now we are looking for a new colleague for this exact task.

Your night with us

The building has 38 residents spread across two departments, and you will be the night shift on the 1st-2nd floor, where 19 residents live. You will not be alone at night, as you are on duty together with a social and health care assistant. You help each other when two pairs of hands are needed or to manage a situation.

Some nights are calm, others are busy. You assist with personal care and toilet visits, reposition and bed-bound them as needed, and administer medicines after training. And you are there when a resident wakes unsettled or afraid, with a calm voice, a hand to hold, or just a bit of company, until it is all right again.

You notice small changes and tell your colleague when something is different. You document what you see, and in the morning you hand the baton to the day shift with a good handover.

In Glostrup Municipality we work based on mastery and development, and that also applies at night. We help residents with what they cannot do themselves, and respect each individual's habits and rhythm, even when it does not follow the clock.

You, we hope to meet

You are educated as a social- and health care helper and meet all residents with care and professionalism. You notice early when a resident's condition changes, you know what to do, and you know when to call your colleague. You keep your knowledge up to date and have a desire to become more skilled. And you love the special calm of the night and keep your own calm, even when something unexpected happens.

You must be able to document in the care system CURA. If you haven't tried it before, we'll teach you.

You will have a leader who knows everyday life from the inside, because she herself is educated as a social- and health care assistant. We ensure that night shifts are not forgotten, but are heard and are involved in what happens in the house.

The practical

The position is a fixed appointment of 28 hours per week on night shift, 7/7 on odd weeks, with start time 23:00–07:00 and starting December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible. Salary and terms follow the applicable collective agreement. We obtain electronic criminal record before employment.
